Publisher's summary

Four hundred years of silence. Where was the promised Messiah? The Jewish people were waiting for word of the prophets to come true, for they prophesied that he would come. Then the angel Gabriel announced his birth. Wise men sought him. Herod wanted to kill him. John the Baptist presented him to Israel. God anointed him. Satan cruelly tempted him. Then the King came into the Jewish meeting house and announced: "I am here! I have come to set you free and to wash away sins, and liberate those who love and follow me." It is believed that Matthew was the first apostle to write a gospel, possibly as early as 50 AD. He was a wealthy tax collector who profited greatly from his duty of representing Rome. And then one day, the Man from Galilee stood in front of him and said, "Come follow me."

Exceptional & Mind-blowing Version

Beautifully written and in a modern day language that is so much easier to understand but more so, the intricate details and actual revelation was so overwhelming, only God would have been able to reveal this to Brian by the power of Holy Spirit! Thank you Abba Father for your precious Word because you are the Word yourself!!!
A 10/10 rating from me. I can wait to read the other books of the entire Bible and so looking forward to owning one in the near future of both the old and new testimony in one book!!! Praise God!!!

I Love the Passion Translation

What made the experience of listening to Matthew: Our Loving King the most enjoyable?

Its the word of God. I love Gods word. This translation is beautiful and really gives the depth of the meaning of the original language which is sometimes lost in other translations

What other book might you compare Matthew: Our Loving King to and why?

The Passion Translation of Psalms Poetry on fire or The Passion Translation of Romans or any other of their books of the bible because they are all connected.

Which scene was your favorite?

All of it. Every scene

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A must see

Any additional comments?

I love the Passion Translation. It has helped me greatly in having a deeper understanding of God's word because it is a fuller translation of the original language. I love the footnotes.

excellent! What a thought provoking translation.

I am struck with seeing Jesus in a different light. Faced with knowing Father God differently. I highly recommend this translation, it is refreshing and accurate.

Easy to understand and enjoy

Listening to The New Passion Translation of the gospel of Mathew is a refreshing experience for me. Many of the passages that formerly were difficult to understand are made very clear in a natural, easy to comprehend way. :)

He is Grace and our King!

I can imagine Levi as he penned his book.He is despised and scorned by his Jewish brothers and not fully trusted by the Romans.Yet Jesus called him to come under His wings and change the world together.
Nobody could have pulled these off except He is the expected Yeshua Hamashiach. If only my people can see what the old prophets wrote about unraveling before their eyes.
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.Matthew 13:14-16

Translated with a heart of love

This is such a rich translation of what Matthew wrote down for us. I feel like I am hearing the way Jesus intended this to be heard all along. This is such a refreshing presentation of the gospel. I feel the love of God as I'm listening to Brian Simmons read each word.
