Publisher's summary

When circumstances leave her with little choice but to volunteer for the Interstellar Bride Program, Hannah Johnson finds herself matched with not one but two mates. Her soon-to-be husbands are warriors of the planet Prillon, a world whose men are known far and wide for their prowess both in battle and in bed.

Following her transport to a starship halfway across the galaxy, Hannah awakens in the presence of Zane Deston, the huge, fiercely handsome commander of the Prillon fleet. After informing her that she is now his mate as well as the mate of his second, Zane takes it upon himself to supervise as Hannah is thoroughly and intimately examined. Her failure to properly cooperate with the ship's doctor earns her a painful, embarrassing spanking on her bare bottom, but it is her body's response to the exam that truly leaves her blushing.

Though Hannah is shocked by the prospect of being shared by Zane and his second, the equally handsome warrior Dare, she cannot hide her arousal as her two dominant mates take their time in mastering her body. As the day of the claiming ceremony approaches, Hannah begins to long for the moment when Zane and Dare will make her fully theirs, but can she risk giving her heart to men who might die in battle any day?

Narration was disjointed

I liked this story. It was a great fantasy with just enough details to draw you into their world without a big information dump at the beginning. It had the potential to be a great story but the author was a little too focused on the sex and not quite enough on the story. Yes I know it’s erotica but S.E. Smith pulls it off why not Grace Goodwin? I think she has the potential to be just as good.

The way they did the narration caused it to be disruptive to the flow of the book. It seems that they split up the chapters or maybe the character point of views. There was a male and a female narrator. But the way they split the text up had the female doing the male voice and didn’t work for me. It was disconcerting and kept me from really getting into the story. I liked the female narrator. The male came across as overly harsh (the voice not the story) at first but then got better. It would be optimal if they split the characters along gender lines instead of story lines.

Overall it was a soothing bit of mind candy. I enjoyed it.

Great erotic Sci-fi romance

The author Grace Goodwin puts a very erotic spin on the Sci-fi romance genre and this audiobook was very well done. I enjoyed listening to the story and the narration was very well performed. There are a lot of explicit scenes, just FYI.

DNF: Poor Narration; Heroine Withdraws Consent

I can't comment on the story itself; I couldn't finish this one due to the conflicting narration styles and the refusal of the "heroes" to respect the heroine's autonomy.

First, I thought the two narrators would perform the different sexes, making the story come to life. Nope. The narrators alternated chapters, so that each had to stretch past their abilities to narrate the opposite sex. Their pacing was completely different, with the female speaking quickly and the male taking time for each word. In short, listening was a jarring experience.

I believe this was also one of several books with what I'll tactfully call Consent Issues. On several occasions, the heroine said "No," "Stop," and/or "I don't want this." The heroes shushed her, promised she'd like it, and refused to discuss it with her. They proceeded with whatever action the heroine declined.

That's rape. NO means NO, not "maybe" and never, ever "Heal me with your magic d***." Continuing sexytimes after a No is rape.

The proper response to "No" is "Okay! Let's talk about it. No? Okay! ... Do you want to stick around and watch tv or can I call a taxi for you?"

Alternatively, a frank discussion of safewords and green-yellow-red sexytime activities -- before you start -- is mature and safe for everyone. Then, a "No" can be an insincere role-play or even a "Yes." Without that discussion, partners are morally obligated to respect every word the other(s) say. No, therefore, means No, Stop is *Stop,* and "I don't want this" means **"Take your hands off me!"**

Louder for the people in back: NO MEANS NO. SEX AFTER "NO" IS RAPE.

(Yeah, it's fiction. So is perfect sex every single time. So what?)

Please don't bother.... weak and annoying female

So when in the first couple of pages in the book.. "How are we different from earth males?" Answer: "Well your skin is different... you are a little darker" REALLY. Do only white men and women exist in this author's world.

Also what women refers to her own women parts as "p&@y" in her own subconscious.

This author is insulting to intelligent readers. Fantasy is one thing, bias and naivety in your writings are much different.

Great second book in series!

Aside from one minor character description discontinuity, this was a great erotic sci-fi story . Loved the narrators and I cannot wait for the next installment in grace Goodwin's bride series.

The hottest books I have listened to

Wasn’t sure I would go for the science fiction genre but holy wow. Great sex scenes. Male narrator was a disappointment.
