Wow , this audiobook is AMAZING ! There is everything in this wonderful performance - action , emotion , joy , sadness, laughter and sadness (Hector). This book is so good and Gordon Korman is the best author ever I love all his books :)

Great story; great narration

I loved the narration overall, but one of the male readers always gave the girl characters a lisp as if he was impersonating a comical caricature of a gay man. That didn’t make any sense as a character choice and was irritating to hear. One other thing was the way a female narrator pronounced the word “especially” incorrectly. She said, “ek-specially”, which was also irritating to listen to, especially since she was supposed to be a genius. Other than that, I loved the story and the narrators, who sounded great on the whole and the story drew me in.

Exciting storyline with excellent narration!

Would you listen to Masterminds again? Why?

My 10 and 12 yo boys and I listened to all 3 books in this series while on a driving vacation this summer. The story was creative and different from all others--lots of opportunities to stop and discuss foreshadowing and what we thought was going on. Though at times unbelievable that the teenage characters survive all that they did, we enjoyed their crazy adventures. We loved that each chapter was narrated by a different reader--the readers were excellent and positively added to the overall experience. We would recommend this series to others--possibly 10 and up due to the unusual topic. On a plus, the characters' language was clean and any flirtations were appropriate.

The book was amazing and I love the story line but one minor setback is when Malik is narrorrating he uses a lisp when a girl is talking.

enjoyable story, but be aware that this is the first of three books. The first book just abruptly stops without a sense of completion to the story.

Great read-aloud!

This works really well as a class read-aloud for sixth graders. I totally recommend it.

8th grade Middle School

Amazing! We are reading this in my Language Arts class and the kids are loving it. It is part one of a 3 part series and they are alreadylooking forward to the 2nd book (Criminal Destiny).

The different character perspectives are awesome and interesting. MasterMinds has everything: Malik...the resident "bad" guy, Amber...the "perfect" daughter., Tori...the "free" thinker., and Eli..."the "rational" one.

This book leaves you guessing what will happen next. The underlying paradox of the town, Serenity, is fascinating. There are SO many ways to teach this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone, especially to middle school!
