This audiobook gave me a fresh and much-needed perspective on what it means to parent adult children. In today’s world, it’s become increasingly common for young adults, even with college or master’s degrees, to struggle with full independence. I’ve seen bright, hardworking young people juggling full-time jobs and side hustles just to afford rent in expensive cities. I loved reading this book. As i was reading this book I thought about how my own parents were "parenting" me as I moved from my teens, to my 20's and beyond. This was a great book and if you have kids, you will want this book! I found it to be a refreshing angle on parenting at a completely different level than when your kids are young and still living with you! Highly recommend!

My children are little, but I often think of how the adult years will look in regards to our relationship. A lot of fears arise. Fear of the unknown. How will I navigate it then? How can I prepare them?

Well it's books like this one that really help you calm the fears and look at what it can look like.

It has a great, balanced tone. Honesty without harshness, empathy without enabling. It gives you help with things like communication and mindsets of mutual respect, using stories to help visualize the journey.

The voice of the story is reassuring to parents. It also encourages personal growth for parents, bringing intentionality and values to this stage of parenting.
