Publisher's summary

1195 A.D.—Sir Galen Burleson has a love 'em and leave 'em reputation. Enormous and powerful, he is the captain of the army at Hexham Castle. Galen is in control of his life and his future until his dying father, tired of his son's roving ways, demands he marry Lady Lorica de la Beauvriere, the sole heiress of the St. Nicholas Court Castle fortune.

Galen has no intention of pursuing a woman who, by all accounts, is much-pursued already. St. Nicholas Court is a powerful castle with old Norman money but Galen would prefer to chase women of his own choosing. However, his father finally confesses his reasons for the St. Nicholas Court heiress choice—the Burleson wealth, once substantial old Saxon wealth, is gone.

Now, he has no choice but to pursue the wealthiest unmarried woman he knows—Lady Lorica.

Lorica de la Beauvriere isn't an ordinary lady. Highly educated and highly trained in a variety of feminine and non-feminine pursuits, she's the smartest person in the room when suitors come to call. Galen walks into a deluge of resistance and insults right from the start.

But that only serves to intrigue him.

And with that, a very unconventional love story is born.

Contains mature themes.

Wonderful...

Comfort reads are the very best. 💙 Atmospheric storytelling and spot on narration. Have a listen, you won't regret it.

Another KLV Hit!

Master of the Dawn is a great, entertaining tale with equal amounts of drama and romance. It captured my attention from the first page and continued to get better with every succeeding page. I will definitely listen to this one again!

One of her better books

I've listened to dozens of her books and this was a great story, and a refreshing narration.

Just WOW!

Kathryn has gone and done it again! She is nothing but a master author! She has the ability to write every single emotion out there and put them into words in my brain and heart!
Paul has a great delivery when he narrates. He put a spell on me and made me think I was watching everything that went on in the story. Give them a ten instead of five stars!

KLV has written a good and enjoyable story……….once again

Paul Woodson us a superb narrator! He takes on any voice with great expression and believability.

Master of Dawn is one of KLV’s better recent stories. Truth be told, she is such a creative and knowledgeable writer that I doubt that she can write a “bad” book. Her heroes weave in an out of her books like the vines of an old and extensive family chart, allowing us to know each character more intimately and from a different point of view. This makes us feel like we are also part of this monumental family tree, smiling in recognition of a forgotten family member, rejoicing in the marriages and births and feeling sad for the loss of one or another who we knew from long ago. This continuity and involvement makes us want to pick up another of KLV’s books so that we may continue the saga of the heroes who populated the Medieval era.
