Publisher's Summary

Lillian Brunette is desperate for a job. Six months pregnant and recently divorced, she needs health insurance and an income if she's ever going to be able to take care of herself and the baby - if what happened to her first pregnancy happens again. So when her best friend tells her that the billionaire bachelor is looking for an assistant, she jumps at the opportunity to interview.

Reed Williamson is trying to get over his broken heart. When he finds out his fiancée ended up pregnant with his half-brother's baby, he's written off all relationships. He was doing a good job at that until he finds out that in order to inherit his family's investment company, he has to be married. Out of desperation, Reed's mom puts in a call to an elite matchmaking agency to find him a contract wife. At least with that, there's no chance of falling in love.

After an episode of mistaken identity, Lillian finds herself contractually obligated to marry Reed. That's the ideal relationship for her. Faking a marriage seems easy, until she finds out Reed is kind, incredibly handsome, and just might be what she wants in a family. If only he could accept the secret she's so desperate to hide.

Overall 4

Overall 4, but story is a 2.5. It felt like it was missing something. When I looked at ebook version, I noticed that it had an epilogue that the audiobook version doesn't. I wonder what else is missing?!

Entertaining story

The heroine is expecting a baby and going through a divorce. She, desperately needs a job. Her best friend, Tamara tells her about a personal assistant job for billionaire Reed Williamson. She gets to his office and is rushed through signing the contract before she realizes that she just agreed to be his wife. I really enjoyed this story and I think fate brought Reed and Lillian together.

A touching story with a sweet ending!

A wonderful story with a great narration. Alone and pregnant, Lillian goes to apply for a job and unknowingly signs a contract to marry Reed. They have both been hurt before and try to protect themselves from further heartbreak while attempting ignore their growing attraction. I read the book first and really enjoyed how the narrator brought the story to life!

Can something real come from something fake?

I love this book. I read this book before getting to listen to it. The narrator did an excellent job of bringing this book to life. Lillian is coming out of a bad relationship and has struggled most of her life with not feeling loved or wanted. She is desperate for a job. I really like the tenacity of Lillian and how she fights for what she needs. Reed is healing from a heartbreak of his ex-fiance hooking up with his half-brother. Reed has been hurt too many times and doesn't want to be hurt again. With both guarding their hearts in a relationship that made by contract, they each fight the attraction that is obvious to everyone that sees them together. I recommend this book to those that love sweet romance that is made from a relationship of convenience.

Marriage of convenience

An enjoyable story to listen to.

The narrator really expressed the anxiety and fear that Lillian was going through, and it really made you feel for her plight. Reed was such a sweet guy it’s no wonder she fell for him.

You won’t be disappointed in this book.
