Publisher's Summary

Traded. Dru had been traded by her captain to the Alliance Empire. She and the rest of the female crew from the human starship Dakota were to be married off, as the Alliance was suffering from a demographics issue - there weren’t enough Alliance women. Dru didn’t care what kind of problems the Alliance had. She didn’t come this far, in her short life, to end up as a grey alien man’s slave, no matter how powerful his civilization was. But that was the problem. Humans were next to nothing, and the Alliance Empire ruled the galaxy. But Dru has an advantage to aid her escape, she is telepathic.

Ket of Imperial House Vo had not thought much about the human women being brought to the Alliance, until his eyes rested on the young, red-haired beauty, and he knew it was the gods’ will that she become his wife. He would make her submit to his strict Alliance culture and humbly accept her new life in the empire. He knew from the moment he saw her picture that she was his destiny.

The Alliance Series is set in a fictional future, where humans are small-time players in the big-time galaxy. There are no heroes or women being rescued; instead, listeners are led through an intricate maze of alien-courting customs, duplicitous and strict religious codes, vicious culture shock, and uncomfortable compromises. Married to the Alien Doctor can be listened to as a stand-alone audiobook in the series.

Note: This audiobook contains a difficult scene of a sexual nature, which the main character is forced to confront the memory of.

Intriguing and stunning!!

it was hot!!!! I was shocked and amazed by the world created and brought to life by this narrator and author. It had so many things going for it as it was sensual, erotic, had mistery and intrigues. There were a few areas that could have been handled better and provided closure to scenes however, overall I enjoyed this book and the premise of futuristic aliens struggling with some of the same issues we face in our society now.

Not the ~Take Her 🔫💋 Make Her~ Normal Abduction

I was expecting the capture and instant lust, fall into deep dirty sex, then have alien babies and live happily ever after kinda story. That’s not what I got. I found it interesting that we were in war against the Alliance but they were the most similar to humans and actually protected Earth. It was the war that gave them an excuse to finally take women prisoners to help repopulate their species. It was their reverence to their belief that humans came from their planet that made them accept human women into their society. The romance was a slow build because of Alliance customs and it was believable that love could be true after a year of secret admiration and open friendship. All in all, I enjoyed the listen. Holly Holt did a great job. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. My review is HONEST. 👍🏻👍🏻 Two Thumbs Up!

Excellent World Building

Even though this story is book 2 I don't think I missed anything skipping book 1, this is a great stand alone although I do want to listen to book 3 to see what happens with that cliff hanger!! This was marvelously written. You meet Dru (whose full name I cannot spell but is absolutely beautiful) who is from Earth, but not the good part. She has a different background than all the other females captured and traded to the Alliance that sets her apart. She has escaped only to be captured somewhere else. She is isolated because of a Ban she doesn't understand. She is lonely and finally gets a friend. Things ramp up quickly after that. But Alma Nilsson does a glorious job really building this story and customs of this species and how and why they need human females so desperately despite having a famales on their planet. There was one scene I thought to be odd, I wont give it away but you'll understand when you get to that part. They are so desperate for daughters yet they allow one of their rituals to cause pain and death to anyone, you would think they would regulate this "thing" with females for this reason. That was the only thing that stuck out to me as odd under the planets circumstances. You'll understand when you get to that part which was beautifully written as well, I just thought it odd. Check this story out if you enjoy Alien Romance or just romance in general as it didn't really feel like an alien romance since they are so similar to humans in many ways. It was a beautiful gritty story with alot of twists. Holly Holt did a beautiful job reading Dru's story for us. It was a bit confusing at times because the writer does change perspective in the middle of something several times so you won't know who is talking or thinking until them mention the other parties in the room or situation and you figure it out. Different but good

Married to the Alien Doctor is an enjoyable sci-fi romance, unique compared with others in the genre. The character development is good, and the storyline is interesting with great erotic scenes. The narration by Holly Holt is great, with a pleasing performance. Overall, this was a pleasant listen and could've been a bit more engaging. Married to the Alien Doctor

This was an interesting listen. It dealt with a lots of different topics. Cultural differences, bullying, love at first sight, jealously and how different people deal with it on an Alien world. 🎧 audio obsession

Loved It

I really enjoyed this book! I love alien romance but this story had a but if a twist. It was not just based on the two characters getting married. It shows what the female character went through and the build of of everything she came to. I loved the narrator Holly. She did a great job going between the Male and female characters. Her voice really got me into the story.

Different type of Sci fi romance

This book was definitely not what I was expecting. I found it to be slow and a very long listen - over 14 hours. I usually love sci fi and alien romance but this one was different. In my opinion, this book was OK. Holly Holt did a good job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I usually don't listen to sci fi romance,

But this was really great. The narration was good but there were some technical issues at times. It didn't take away from the overall story though. I enjoyed the characterization of Dru and her romance with Ket was compelling. I look forward to listening to more audiobooks by this author.

Attention grabbing, addictive but long

I really enjoyed this book, it may have been long but it certainly wasn't boring, it grabbed my attention from the start and held it too the very end and left me wanting more! It provoked my simpathy for the women suddenly dropped into the middle of a strange culture, especially for Dru who was so young and had such a traumatic start. The romance between Dru and Ket was incredibly moving, although funny in places where cultural differences met, it had a lot of chemistry and some steamy scenes. I look forward to more of the series, and desperately want to find out what the Deity's have in store for the Alliance beyond the few hints already dropped. I really enjoyed Holly Holt's expressive narration and look forward to hearing more from her.

fun sci-fi romance

Overall, I enjoyed this a lot. The writing wasn't the best, the world building was often inconsistent and the dialogue was cringey but despite all that, there was something charming and endearing about this book and I really enjoyed listening to it.

Good story line but too long

At the beginning of this book, I thought I was really going to enjoy it because it had a unique and interesting story line but the more the book went on I felt it was really dragged out I did struggle to finish it, the narrator had a nice reading voice and did well, but there is a lot of mistakes in the book. overall I think some people would really like this book, it just wasnt for me. audiobook obsessions reviewer.

Science Fiction Romance

Married to the Alien Doctor by Alma Nilsson is the second book in the Renascence Alliance Series that I listened to on audio narrated by Holly Holt. The books can be read as standalones. This is the first book of Alma’s that I read and it definitely won’t be my last. I was intrigued by this series and will need to go back and read the first book of the series Married to the Alien Admiral. Holly did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future. I did notice on a few sections lines were repeated but not often enough to distract from the story. Also I personally like to listen to my audiobooks at a quicker pace so I listened at 1.75 speed. AudiobookObessionReviwer AudioBookObsession

So very long...

I normally don't mind a nice long book. Unfortunately in this case I feel as if much of the length was just unnecessary filler. I wasn't able to even really get into the book until I was at least half way through. I also was a bit put off my the constant use of technical names for male and female anatomy during scenes that were supposed to be erotic. The storyline itself was interesting and I definitely enjoyed the thought behind it. I'm just not sure if the authors writing style is a good fit for me. The narration needed some editing/proofing. There were many places that lines were repeated or background notice filtered through. Holly herself did a good job with the actual narration. There was just quite a bit of technical issues that detracted from the story. #audiobookobsessionreviewer

Interesting And Unique

I can't say that I was madly in love with this book, but I can't say I hated it either. It's one of those books that you're intrigued enough to give a chance, but not enough to rave over and deem a favorite. I found the book a bit cringy, but I recognize that it could have been way worse. I expected this book to be fully sexual with a bit of a story mixed in. I was wrong. There are sexual scenes in it, but it doesn't overpower the story like I thought it would. The characters were okay, but they could have used a bit more personality to connect with. For lack of better way to describe it, all of the characters were more scientific than personal. I think that's the way they are supposed to be written though. This is supposed to take place in the way distant future. Like thousands of years from now. And the lack of connection could just be me. I really did enjoy hearing Holly Holt telling this story. She did bring some life into the story. I want to say that I've listened to something of hers before, but I can't say for sure. I'll have to go through the books I've listened to so I know for sure. That will take some time though. Even if I haven't, I'll definitely give books narrated by her a chance in the future. While I enjoyed this story, I will probably not continue the series. I didn't read the first book, and I probably won't. This story has great potential. I'm sure that it will thrill many readers. It just didn't do it for me. It lacked some things that I felt it needed more of. I am willing to admit that it could have been way worse. I'm glad I gave it a chance. It was adorable and unique. I enjoyed that aspect of it.

Married to the Alien Doctor

It's not as naughty as I was expecting, it's a bit fun, I listen to about halfway through the book, but I'm struggling to finish it, Married to the Alien Doctor has a good storyline and narrator and is more aimed at the female market I assume, basically take out the sexy bits you would have a pretty good space opera in my opinion,

Excellent narration of an intriguing story.

I so enjoyed the way Holly Holt brought these characters and this story to life. So much so that I forgot about the narration and just got sucked into the story. From the blurb I wasn't quite sure what to expect. But I was drawn more and more into the story the more I listened. And I have to say I really enjoyed it. I loved following along with Dru as she worked out her place in her new world. The misunderstandings that happened and the omissions from both sides that made things more tricky. In fact it felt very real, the reactions, the expectations and the compromises. I really enjoyed the character portrayals and got quite involved with them, often giving advice in my head. I could quite happily have spent a lot more time with them.
