It is probably one of the most famous stories ever shared. It is found in the four canonical gospels and heralds the foundation of Christianity. It is the story of Mary, a virgin, who conceives a son through the Holy Spirit and her son is the prophesized messiah. But is there more to this story? Are there apocrypha, esoteric and long forgotten or suppressed gospels, that share a secret about Mary and other women who were part of a sacred order and trained in divine conception?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Marguerite Rigoglioso, is the foremost authority on the history of virgin birth and has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Marguerite is the founding director of Seven Sisters Mystery School and the author of The Cult of Divine Birth in Ancient Greece and Virgin Mother Goddesses of Antiquity. Her website is https://www.sevensistersmysteryschool.com/ and she joins me this week to share her path and her new book, The Mystery Tradition of Miraculous Conception: Mary and the Lineage of Virgin Births.
