love story, performance ruined it

I loved the story itself, if I could have rated separately I would have, the narration ruined it for me. the fake try to be southern accent was horrid. one of the males voice, Gil was well done but the other, Jake was like listening to reverse drag. the females give just kept throwing me out of the story. will be requesting refund on this one which I never do

Yummy smexy read!!! I wish it were longer!

This is a super yummy quick read in the Divine Creek series. I was a little disappointed, because all the other books in the series are a journey from beginning to end. One of the things I love about the series is how Ms Rainier will go back and retell events that occurred in other books that brought a couple together. The reader is filled in on everything that is unsaid in the previous stories. That is missing here. We only pick up where things are in the current timeline. I felt a little cheated, because the series has made me expect more. I was also really excited to hear what happened with the bathtub scene from an earlier book.

The story her is very limited, it seems to be more about the hot smexy steam. It is especially hawt!! Oh yeah, you can expect all the naughty menage detail that Divine Creek is known for, oh lordy yes! It is all about the lady,the fellas are only friends.

The narrative is mixed, give in you thoughts from all three characters. It is key for understanding where they are all coming from. Margot is a sassy curvy gal, just the sort I adore! Jake is a yummy cowboy who loves to bait his woman. Gil is a delicious peacemaker for the group! I adore the dynamic and wish we could have spent more time with them.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Audrey Lusk, who takes delight in the naughty bits. She has a great little rasp to her voice that fits the sassy read perfectly. Her energy is deliciously exuberant at times. Terrific pace, keeps the story moving smoothly. The accents were subtle, maybe a touch to subtle for Margot. It is a fine line sometimes. This was such a yummy read, I will definitely look for more of her naughty books!

Overall, this is a great read that draws you more into the series. I wish it were the marathon read Ms Rainier is known for. I miss all the detail and the build of the romance.

I am so very excited to see Siren Publishing getting into audiobooks. I can only hope the rest of the smexy series will be coming!

Her voices for each of the characters are very distinct and captured the essence of the characters.
