A Midtown Murder Mystery. Kansas City police detective and psychic profiler, Clara Carson, and the unlikely detective, Jack Jackson, join forces again in solving their third murder mystery. July, 1992. A woman called the "Witch of Washington Avenue" is mysteriously murdered on the front porch of her decaying mansion, in full view of the passing Fourth of July parade and its spectators. Her spinster daughter, the only possible suspect, is taken away in handcuffs. Although Jack and Clara watch the parade from across the street, they see nothing. Even the photographs Clara take offer no clues. They find themselves in a race to find the real killer, and locked in a psychic journey into chilling family secrets long hidden behind the old mansion's proud walls.
