Publisher's Summary

"We have all been more or less to blame... every one of us, excepting Fanny." Taken from the poverty of her parents' home, Fanny Price is brought up with her rich cousins at Mansfield Park, acutely aware of her humble rank and with only her cousin Edmund as an ally. When Fanny's uncle is absent in Antigua, Mary Crawford and her brother Henry arrive in the neighbourhood, bringing with them London glamour and a reckless taste for flirtation. As her female cousins vie for Henry's attention, and even Edmund falls for Mary's dazzling charms, only Fanny remains doubtful about the Crawfords' influence and finds herself more isolated than ever. A subtle examination of social position and moral integrity, "Mansfield Park" is one of Jane Austen's most profound works

Truly lovely

I’ve listened to MANY MANY audio recordings of Jane Austen over the tears. This might be my favourite. The reader was lovely- inflection and character individuality was spot on. Really well done. And the price didn’t hurt either!

Fantastic narrator

I really enjoyed the narrator for this story. She has a soothing relaxing voice.

Be forewarned however, if you search for this narrator it’s not the same person. I’m a bit confused by this but there are a list of books narrated under this name and one of them is a male speaking in German.

Great Book, OK Narration

I love this and all Austen's books. This one has more depth than some. I'm not a big fan of this narrator. Her characters all sound similar, and her voice is a bit grating. Also, I really dislike the cover photo. It doesn't fit the story at all and seems more like advertising for her own porn books. It looks cheap.

Love Mansfield Park

This is the longest of Janes books. She espouses the virtuous in this story. She points out how base defects in character can result in personal disaster. She does get a bit long winded for my taste

Language, Charcters, Plot, Manners and Morality

This is very much a favorite Jane Austen novel of mine. A vivid understanding of human nature, an appreciation of irony in human affairs, and the properness of morality all combine, though rarely, to make for characters with character.

Fabulous

It was really brought to life by the narration. I’ve read it at least twice but this was like experiencing it for the first time.

Loved it!

Very well narrated. Story line was most excellent. I could have listened from start to finish (that is, if my time allowed).
