Publisher's summary

In this New York Times best seller, Tyrese Gibson, multi-platinum R&B singer and movie star, and Rev Run of Run-DMC and star of Run's House, present a bold, honest, and uncensored look into the male mind.

Tyrese and Rev are the unlikeliest of best friends - Rev is married with six kids, and Tyrese is a single dad still hesitant to settle down. But after an unexpected argument in which Rev insisted that marriage is forever, and Tyrese countered that you could bail when the sex went bad, the two decided not just to agree to disagree, but to team up and open their debate to a larger audience.

Manology will help you weed out the cheaters, manipulators, and pimps from the good men, and it will give you the tools to know if your man is the marrying kind. In "Manology after Dark", the guys even give the lowdown on what men need in bed, before and after they put a ring on your finger. Some behavior can't be changed, but as Tyrese and Rev share, it's better to face the truth. With Rev's hard-earned knowledge on how to make a marriage work, and Tyrese's sometimes uncomfortable, but always honest take on the single man's mind-set, Manology is your one source to help you take control of your love life and truly understand your man.

Informative

Narrator was awesome, as I find that in most of the audibles. I read this book to see if I would agree or disagree with the things they mentioned. I found it's definitely a book for the women that feel they can't seem to find the right man. Look for the non-committal signs early if you're looking to settle down and get married.

Does not follow my beliefs

The book was informative. However, Tyrese idea of having premarital sex with his girlfriend and all the other things that don’t follow the will of God had me questioning why Rev would allow so much banter without following up with Gods will for relationships. It left me confused and I ended up exchanging the audio book for another.

Interesting!

It was a struggle for me to remain interested, but I am no quitter, therefore finished the book. Tyrese portrays the self-absorbed, but I am thankful for his candidness and to learn of 'such type' of men. Quite insightful. Rev Run's narrative made this audiobook somewhat tolerable. Overall, there is so much emphasis on women getting and keeping a man. Are they worth it? No offense. I grew up in a home with a playful and compassionate dad, plus 4 loving brothers, my 'love-tank' has never felt empty. I am beautiful, confident and smart, therefore continually receive ample attention from men. Beyond the initial physical attraction, there must be an intellectual and spiritual connection to keep me engaged. Some of us women are much more logical, than emotional. Sorry, if we're not heading in the same directions with similar interests and values (including NO sex before marriage) then it's actually not worth the investment of my time or energy.

I Expected Different

I struggled to finish this audio because I was expecting something different... I t was almost like a Tyrese confession and Rev Run is counseling. Although I am a HUGE fan of both this book didn't meet the goal in which I thought it would... I remember watching the TV show they hosted and was ALWAYS walking away with some nugget... I think I would rather the show instead... Thank you

Tyrese is a chauvinist a**hole

After my marriage of 10 years was broken by my husband's infidelity I was hoping to read/listen to some good information about what goes on in men's heads. I can't even with Tyrese's cheater apologist bull. His advise if your man cheats is, know that its not you (ok), don't approach the situation emotionally (say what ?!?). Then continues to talk about how hes cheated on every woman he's ever been with.

Also, he talks about women being loose (biologically not morally) and essentially blames it on women, but if a man is experiencing troubles its also the woman's fault. F that guy.

I really tried to finish this book but couldn't tolerate this garbage for one more minute.

interesting

Run was spot on great advice. Tyrese was great in explaining some men prior to marriage. He was on point with many things he said. But when it comes to marriage, leave that to the experts. Totally disagree with his ideals. Rev Run was very real. Very right. Wish it had been read by them though.

Worst book ever!

All of this book is all about catering coddling and spoiling man. What a waste of my time!
It’s full of conflicting information and advice

* make them feel like you’ll never leave them so they feel secure and open up to you
* make them feel like you leave them anytime if they don’t behave
* men are like dogs if you don’t take them out they’ll piss on your floor, if you don’t sleep with them they’ll cheat on you and it’s normal

Ouch, this book goes too far in unhelpful ways

This book is for dating - I am married but was open to learning more about how men think. Wow. Just wow. I understand talking about past experiences and learning from them, but the part about guys not staying with gals because their vag is too loose, really? That was disappointing because it helps no one and it’s sounded like a raunchy comedian getting no laughs. I had to trade it in at that point.

Arrogance in a book

Just the opinions of two arrogant men who don’t even agree on the things they talk about themselves so it’s hardly useful. They paint a picture of all men being pigs which is not the case.

Love

I cannot believe this book was free with my membership.
It has helped me alot, very difficult to listen to when Tyrese was talking about how he has treated women but Rev came to the rescue every time.
I certainly learned more about men in a more raw way than many other books on similar topics.

what a load of superficial rubbish

Tyrese uses this book to make himself feel justified in his greedy, selfish, superficial use of his lucky fame. never have I heard such pathetic advice ha. he advises women not buy nice clothes but to geta flat stomach and toned "ass", he advises some women have vaginas that are "too used" not even considering that maybe his penis is where the lack is 🤣 . rev stands on his high horse and like many born-again Christians that feels entitled to spurt out his useless advice and brags about his stardom and drops as many famous names and album details /gig dates as possible ha. pls, stick to what u know a bit about, music. this is a waste of time and a joke. tells what WOMEN are doing wrong when in reality it could have been condensed into "if someone cheats or doesn't treat u right, love yourself enough to pass HIS SORRY ASS by and enjoy being man/needy egotistical idiot free". omg, also "give a man sex/validation/ego boost/dress well to get or keep a man" so offensive. so so bad is a joke they let them right this. zero stars
