As a parent or grandparent, it's likely your biggest desire for your son or grandson is that he will grow up to be happy, healthy, and successful - that he will become a man of character. Man, You Rock!: 12 Essential Life Skills to Build Your Character, Vision, and Future - for Young Men, Their Parents, Grandparents, and Mentors will teach you how to help your young man:

  • Establish a vision of what he wants and who he can become

We all want a strong foundation - whether it is for ourselves or the young men in our lives. Man, You Rock! is being hailed everywhere as a blueprint for success and greater contentment.

In each chapter, there is a special section for parents, grandparents, and mentors, with “Lessons/Activities” to do with your sons or grandsons for reinforcing each essential life skill. A great gift for sons (of all ages), parents, grandparents, mentors, and single mothers.

Is there anything more important? Do not delay; every day your son or grandson misses these lessons is another day they are lacking the keys for success. It's a fast listen. It's simple to understand. And it works!

What a great book!!

I’ve been a teacher of teenagers for 25 years and it’s very obvious in class, which kids are lacking the stability that results from a mother and father who are involved in their lives. If fathers everywhere were to read this book with their sons, I believe there would be less juvenile delinquency. This book provides direction for young men in categories I’d never even considered. For example, the idea of having monogrammed thank you cards available that a young man could use to express gratitude to those that do kind things for him. Not only is that a good way to teach them responsibility, but I feel gratitude is one of the most important attributes we all should have. There are many ideas expressed in this book which if followed, would do so much to prepare these young men to be kind, mature, and confident members of society. These traits would also prepare them to be loving and successful husbands and fathers. What a great book.

Building blocks for success.

Not only does this book teach essential building blocks for life but it does it in a concise step-by-step method. Each successive principle builds upon the previous one. Not only does the reader learn what to do but they learn in what order they should do it.

Building a better life one principle at a time

As a father of four boys, I felt the book provided a great recipe for success in the transition from boy to man. If you are a young man with desire to be the best you can, following the principles contained in this book will put you on that course. As Dr. Vanderwood shares personal experiences with the twelve principles, I felt engaged with his candor, sense of humor, humility, and courage. My wife and I read the book with our boys. We find it provides a great opening to discuss really important matters that we rarely get to speak about otherwise. I have also found the book is motivating me to do better at becoming a better man.

Man, You Rock! Review

If they had a book out there that told you the easiest way to make money, or how to become the worlds strongest man, or even a magic spell book that makes thoughts become reality, and they were all proven to be legit, I still wouldn’t choose them over “Man, You Rock”. This book changed my perspective on how to become a man, and I would recommend it to all who truly want to become educated men, fathers, and grandfathers. I thank god that I was able to learn what this book teaches at a young age.
