Game on!

Adam is the first person to reach level 10 and leave the Village of Beginnings, but before he can even reach the Sun Continent, the vessel he’s on is attacked by pirates!

Age of Gods continues to be the most realistic game he has ever played. Nothing about it is like the old VR games of yesteryear, and he isn’t just talking about how oddly real the non-player characters act.

While the game might just be incredibly realistic and nothing more, the problems he faces are quite real. Now that he has left the Village of Beginnings, his goal is clear: Continue to level up, rise in fame, and help Fayte win her bet against Levon Ploenexia. And the best way to do that is to make sure he and his new companions acquire some unique hidden classes!

Fun

This series is a great deal of fun for fans of LitRPG. The MC is OP, but you can tell he will need to be very soon. The other characters are varied and interesting. One thing I haven’t been able to understand is the fact that the MC has several out of game enemies that are still breathing... just saying. Doesn’t make sense for the presented character and his mentality, especially when one of them “killed” someone he cared about.

loving the story

I am at the end of book 2. I'm loving how the story it's developing. Tess Irondale oh it's just an amazing job. with this author I tend to get the e-book as well if only for the artwork that comes with it. the artist did a fantastic job. I did notice that the e-book was missing some of the stats that are in the audio version but I did expect that to be fixed somewhere down the line. with that said as of the time of this review book three is already out in ebook form only and book 4 is set for release December 14th. Can't wait to see what happens next.

-7488… a bit heavy on the stats. Love the story, but that many stats become exhausting.

Fun adventure. Great narrator.

I agree that sometimes the stat readings can get tedious, though I could listen to Tess Irondale recite a book on astrophysics all day long. Fun and easy to follow adventure that draws inspiration from anime and the light novel sources.

Too many stats and too much plot armor...

It was actually difficult listening to this. Tess Irondale is one of the best solo narrators in the genre and it was painful hearing her constantly repeat the same damage stat over and over and over again.

60% of the audiobook is strictly regarding stats. Details of monsters, monster's stats, the monster's abilities, the MC's abilities and stats, damage stats, missing hits, allies stats and abilities, and equipment stats and abilities. The fights against monster were shorter than the time it took to detail everything about them.

On top of that, when every quest results in the MC and his allies receiving hidden classes and OP equipment, the feeling of excitement gets replaced with bored expectation.

The series really did start out well, and it may just be my fault for expecting something more than a typical "OP rise to power" that you see in a lot of anime and manwha. Still, this was hard to finish.
