Wow! The simple complexities are astounding!

This is a very easy, engaging, and intriguing read. The author shares a truth that inspires and empowers, while also being vulnerable enough to accept faults and areas of growth. I highly encourage this novel to any young woman who still searches for the validation of a mother, but the who also understands that that validation will likely never come.

Inspirational, heartbreaking, yet heartwarming ...

Her story captivates, it motivates, it makes you think, it makes you wonder. What a lot of people miss is the fact that this father was playing the role of mother, father and husband all at the same time. Struggling with an addict wife and a rebellious son.
That cannot be easy. Most men would have said deuces a long time ago, but he didn't. I like him and I don't know him. That takes a different level of commitment. Also, when narrated by the author these types of stories have real meaning to the reader.

I truly appreciate the open honesty and straightforward story telling. The writing style reminds me of a journal and it matches the personal nature of the story's content perfectly.

I loved hearing the story read from the author herself. I felt like I was there with her in every step of her journey. I was able to completely understand and picture every scene. There are several lessons I feel that I can apply to my relationship with my mom, stepmom, sisters, friends and romantic relationships.This is a story that many people need to hear, specially women and girls.
