Classic Enid Bylton
The story is full of pleasant English imagery and language. It's dated, though quaint might be a better word. Lovely to listen to, though not as good as nostalgia lead me to believe.

abridged version
I loved to relisten these classics, but I would have loved the complete books instead of this abridged version.
