Simple, elegant, and wise

As the author notes, there aren’t any earth shattering things that no one has said before. That’s not the power of this book. The power comes from its simple, elegant organization of the time tested truths into simple actions and a down to earth wisdom that is comforting. It makes me feel like I can be successful. And shows me how.

Tired of "crazy" weeks?

Disclaimer because there's so many paid reviews on books these days: I received a free copy of this when working on projects for Mary, but I happily would've purchased it.

I expected to have my usual audiobook experience with this, listening start-to-finish in a week or two. But each part is enough of a perspective shift that I actually think it's useful to listen to a section and then give the ideas time to percolate.

I particularly liked the focus on enhancing quality-of-life rather than the usual "making the grind more efficient" that comes up in a lot of productivity books. I also enjoyed the points on people-problems, planning your day even when you "don't have time", the values+goals+commitment exploration, the smarter approach to "accountability", and the emphasis on routines over habits.

Give it a listen if you're stuck on the treadmill Mary describes: "well *this* week has been crazy, but I'll surely get to everything *next* week!"
