Publisher's Summary

Two private investigators must pretend to be newlyweds in love on a Caribbean honeymoon cruise to catch a killer, but what happens when make-believe feelings turn real?

Callum McKenzie, a former Navy SEAL, struggles to open himself up to love. So, when he books a ticket on a honeymoon cruise for a case, he has to find someone to play the role of doting wife. He hires someone, based on a recommendation from a friend, but when he meets the petite single mother, Callum has misgivings. He’s attracted to her in a way he’s never felt before, but he’s her boss. Can he keep things professional between them and fight his forbidden feelings long enough to solve the case?

Jessie Arwens, a former beat cop, moved back home to Atlanta after losing her husband. All she wants now is to see her son settled in his new school and to start over as a private investigator. An old friend recommends her for a job with a successful local PI and she jumps at the chance to establish herself. When she meets him, she quickly finds herself caught up in their act. But she’s been burned by love before and doesn’t want to risk her son’s happiness by leaping into a new relationship, especially with the man who’s currently paying her wages.

Cruising through the tropical Caribbean, the two of them uncover a nefarious plot and web of lies on their pretend honeymoon. But they soon discover that when it comes to matters of the heart there’s a fine line between make-believe and reality.

Private Eyes!

Make-Believe Honeymoon (Make Believe Series, Book 3) Entangles Callum McKenzie, a former navy seal, Jessie Arwens, a former beat cop, now turned private investigators into a web of lies & mystery on a Caribbean Honeymoon Cruise.
The settings are well detailed & illustrated. A clean romance with a guaranteed hea, christian undertones, humor, and mystery to solve.

Narator Amanda Stribling is someone who I never listened to before. Her tone and pace flows through smoothly and flawlessly. Her voice is sweet & easy to listen to. Her rendition of the narrative was well voiced.

Exciting

I loved this exciting adventure. I loved where the story takes place. The descriptions make it seem like I’m there. Once again Vivi and Amanda don’t disappoint. I loved their values and morals. They have great chemistry but never go too far.

Fun,Lighthearted Romance

Callum hires Jessie to accompany him on a job as his fake wife on a Caribbean cruise. This is Jessie’s chance to prove herself as a PI. However sparks begin to fly and they struggle to keep things professional. There is a mystery to solve however it is obvious early on what is happening so it’s a bit silly that two professionals took so long to figure it out. Other than that though it is a fun, lighthearted romance with good character development and lovely descriptions of the surroundings. Amanda Stribling did a wonderful job with the narration. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer 🎧

Another great book in the series

I love this series! Each story is a stand alone, but each one has something made up. This time it is a honeymoon. I really enjoyed listening to the relationship between Callum and Jessie. Jessie is trying to make her way in her hometown. Callum needs help with his work to follow a suspect. A mutual friend sets them up. There is just so much to love about Callum and Jessie. Although they are all business, the attraction is so obvious. I loved Jessie's Independence. She made a great partner for Callum, who liked to work alone.

Amanda Stribling narrated this story wonderfully. Her ability to narrate both make and female characters made the story easy to follow. I really enjoyed listening to Ms. Stribling's narration of Jessie. Ms. Stribling brought out the feistiness in Jessie and brought her character to life. This was a fun listen that I could not stop until the end.

Sweet clean romance with a little bit of mystery

This is a very sweet, clean romance with a bit of a mystery thrown in.
Firstly, the narrator, Amanda Stribling, was great- I liked how she played the male and female characters and was able to modulate her tone for both, including even a child. In fact, even when 2 male characters were having a conversation, I was able to tell the difference.

In the story, it was great to have a strong smart female, Jessie, who was a beat cop and is a single mom; she retired and needed a new job. Callum was also a good guy- ex SEAL looking for a PI partner to go with him on a “honeymoon cruise” to case a suspect. That's how Jessie and Callum met and over the course of the book, fell for each other.

This was a clean romance, with some discussion about religion and the impact of religion on their lives and ideals.

Overall, I liked the book. It featured a great attraction between Jessie and Callum, one built from respect. The mystery was well done and balanced perfectly with the romance.

I received this book from Audiobook Obsession and this is my unbiased review. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Callum💘Jessie! Another Great Make-Believe Couple!

Another great addition to Vivi Holt’s Make-Believe series. Each book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone, each one is about a different couple, this one is Callum and Jessie’s story. Callum was introduced in the second book, he is Tim’s neighbor and friend. I really liked him and was happy to see his story was next in the series. Callum a former navy seal works as a private investigator, he takes on a new client and finds that the person he is investigating will be going on a cruise. Since it is a cruise for honeymooners he needs to hire someone to pretend to be his wife. Jessie, a widow with a son moves back to Georgia to live with her Mom, having had a career in law enforcement she is referred to Callum for the job. She takes it and they head off on the cruise to investigate someone accused of foul play with an inheritance. Callum and Jessie get along great, it takes Callum a bit of an adjustment to get used to not working alone. But the two definitely click and it gets tough for them to not cross that professional line. Their investigation uncovers more than they thought, while I called it right from the start, in the end all the pieces fall in place. Once the case is solved the two get involved romantically, he meets her son and all goes well for them all. Vivi Holt thank you for another great story.

I listened to the audible edition, Amanda Stribling once again brings the story and it’s characters to life. She sets the perfect tone for the story and adds the right amount of dramatic flair which enhances the story another level. Thank you for another great listen🎧

Fake relationship turned real

This was a great book that had me on the edge of my seat. I loved the mystery and intrigue that was involved. The way that Callum danced around Jessie was comical at times. I love how they worked against each other, yet the learned to work with each other. The chemistry was strong between them both as they are on the honeymoon cruise. The narrator was great and made the book come alive. I recommend to those that love sweet, clean, mystery romance.

funny romance/detective story

You just have to love this story, so light so happy, so full of hope. Yeah it is a detective story and yes there is a crime and a bit of sadness but overall this is one for the afternoon rainy day with cup of tea to make you just simply happy. Loved narration loved the book. The "tension" between the characters the misunderstandings it is so funny and so so cut. Go see for yourself.

Sweet story, independent from others in series

You don't have to read the other books in the series to enjoy this one. I've read the first and third books, but not the second. Most of the story takes place on a cruise ship without any overlapping characters (or if they overlap, I didn't notice any details missing).

I thought the story was interesting and appreciated that it was more than just the relationship as the plot. Since I liked the characters, I actually would have liked this book to be it's own series with the relationship developing over several cases/stories (HFN vs. HEA).
