Publisher's summary

The Dark Spores series continues with the second installment of the Majesties of Canaan story-line picking up right where it left off....

With the seven super soldiers split up and on separate missions across the globe, Rekluse, Aganathin, Tenan, and Kasitia discover new, surprising facts about a peculiar man with mighty abilities who possesses an Oramite suit. This same mysterious and ancient element that gave Majesties of Canaan their powers and unique abilities has now made him virtually unstoppable. Now, with his new supernatural gifts and the Caste Republic growing stronger, he unleashes his evil plans to vanquish all Super-Normals who oppose him and control the entire planet. Our heroes find themselves on the short end of a brewing war that threatens to banish the entire world to slavery.

Paraflight and the Oramite Suits

This “chapter” of the Dark Spores series centers on a threat posed by one of Caste Republic’s most dangerous henchmen, Dimitri Petronivich, aka “Paraflight”- a Russian operative with the ability to cause temporary paralysis through touch-as well as the ability to fly. Petronovich has also figured out a way of generating Oramite suits for the Caste Republic, which poses a huge threat to Super-Normals, the Masters of Canaan and the world at large.

Although this audiobook is targeted to a young adult audience, it is an enjoyable book to listen to-regardless of age-because of its action and intrigue.

The narration is good, even if Dimitri’s accent changes over the course of the story; sometimes he sounds Russian, sometimes he sounds German, sometimes he sounds like someone from I don’t know where!

I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

Good clean fun

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This book, number 4 in the Dark Spores series, was as enjoyable as the previous book but with much better audio quality. Although geared towards a YA audience, I think it can still be enjoyed by anyone who enjoys a good super hero story. There is plenty of action without being super gory. I don't recall much, if any cursing. All in all, this is good clean fun.

More Dark Spores

If you're not familiar, the Darks Spores series is a series of books in the same world written by different authors. I would say they're geared for the pre-teen to the young teen crowd.

I've read a few CMP books because I received them for free in exchange for an unbiased review. But unfortunately I don't have all of them, so I'm listening to them piecemeal, having received Book 1 and then Book 4. I think it might have made more sense if I had read books 2 and 3 in between.

That being said, I still enjoyed it, though I think I liked Book 1 better. The narration is good if you don't mind the foreign accents not quite being consistent! If you have a pre-teen in your lie who likes superhero stories, I'd suggest giving this series, and others by CMP, a try. The stories are positive, uplifting, and encouraging.
