Viola True responds eagerly to the advert placed by widower and town sheriff Jerome Callow. Jerome lives in a small town called Haven with his two children. Viola sees this as a plan to escape her abusive husband Marshall, fearing he will eventually kill her if she stays. Viola travels to Haven to become Jerome's wife with the guilt that she hasn't told him about the dark secret that haunts her. She slowly begins to trust and develop affection for Jerome and his children, slowly letting love back into her life. She forms a close friendship with her haunting neighbor, Rose. But events begin to crumble and ruin when the secrets from her past come to the surface and threaten to harm and reclaim her.

An enjoyable story full of haunting and spirited characters, dark secrets with romantic intrigue....

I was unfamiliar with the Mail Order Bride series until I recently received the Audible version of The Bride’s Safe Haven in exchange for an honest review. I must say I was very pleased to be introduced to the series!

This is a sweet story with a happy ending that was a pleasure to listen to. It held a bit of suspense but the outcome was fairly predictable (and welcomed). I enjoyed the characters, the setting and the time period in which the book took place.

The narrator did a wonderful job with the reading of the story. It flowed well and had just the right amount of voice change.

All in all a very enjoyable listen!

Even though it was short, it was sweet. A surprise was in store for me, but I loved it.
Meghan always does a super job narrating. She has wonderful voices for all of the characters.

This audio book was a very pleasant one to listen to. I enjoyed the story line and the characters. I also enjoy the shorter books for when I don't have a long time to listen. Meghan Kelly does a wonderful job as usual narrating the book.
I was given a copy of this audio book in exchange for an unbiased and honest review.

♡ Viola True is looking for a way out. She has had enough of her marriage to her wife beating her husband.

She responds to a mail order bride advertisement, a man who needs a wife, a mother to his children. As the first letters are exchanged they each fill a romantic and practical interest in one another.

As she makes her way out west strange things start to happen and Viola must confront her past to move on…

This is exactly what a short story should be. In 57 minutes there is a well-developed story written by Emma Ashwood.

Meghan Kelly narrates beautifully. As of of my favorite performers, I've run out of compliments! She is brilliant.
