Declan O'Bryan left Ireland to seek his fortune in the New World, but the journey was long for a man without a penny to his name. It took years of back-breaking work as a sailor and a journeyman for him to finally reach Montana, and to have enough money to his name to earn the title of proud homesteader. There's only one thing missing from his life now, and, unlike the boys in town, he's not convinced a man should find a wife in a catalog, the same way he buys a plow.

Quick Read
This was a sweet quick read. This bride did her own advertising and was successful in not only finding herself a husband but she was able to help her aunt and uncle discover that even after 26 years they could love each other if they put effort into it. The narrator was the perfect one for this story.

Sun River Brides Book
Another exceptional book by Karla Gracey. This short story has a variety of things going on. From danger to laughter to romance it's packed with everything you would excpect in a good book. The Sun River Brides books are one of my favorite mail order bride series. I look forward to each and every story as they come out. It's fun to live along side the characters as they find love and adventure in the growing town of Sun River.
Alan Taylor has become one of my favorite narrators. His voice is perfect for these books.

Warm loving story
Book 8 brings us Aaron, a journalist who is ready to settle down and purchase his brother's farm. He answers a letter in the Matrimonials after being prompted by his sister-in-law and meets Frederica. They are magical together from the start. I loved their instant chemistry, but honestly, I loved the interaction Frederica had with her aunt and uncle. The two were not a happily married couple, nor was her aunt happy she had come to live with them..at least that is what she thought. Their transformation shows how sometimes communication and love can change your relationships. This was a wonderful book!
Alan Taylor narrates this with his incredibly warm voice. I am so glad he has done the entire series, bringing Sun River to Life.

For Carl Hennigan, Iron Creek is more than just a town—it is a chance. His chance to start over. To live a life of his own. To teach and do what makes his heart happy. As Carl settles in Iron Creek, he can’t help thinking that his new life wants for nothing—except perhaps somebody to share it with. Just as Carl is about to take the chance and advertise for a wife, he finds another listing from a young woman. Her replies intrigue him, as does the fact that she keeps her full identity hidden. But could there be more connecting them than Carl realizes?
