People who've been here a long time have been talking about him. This morning, when I was having my coffee and croissants, it was all they were talking about. This is a truly curious tale that spans decades and pushes Magret's investigative talents to the limits.

Truly haunting. Great police work on locating the identity of a transient going back 20 years. Loner is word that conjures up so many meanings as Maigret gets to the heart of things. And the heart is what mattered in this tale.
