Story
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Publisher's Summary
Maddie Chester is determined to leave her hometown of Gansett Island, a place that has brought her only bad memories and ugly rumors. Then she’s knocked off her bike on the way to her housekeeping job at McCarthy’s Resort Hotel by Gansett’s "favorite son", Mac McCarthy. He’s back in town to help his father with preparations to sell the family resort and has no intention of staying long. When Mac accidentally sends Maddie flying over the handlebars, badly injuring her, he moves in to nurse her back to health and help care for her young son. He soon realizes his plans for a hit-and-run visit to the island are in serious jeopardy, and he just may be "maid" for love.

Another Form of High School Bullying
I enjoyed this novel. It showed how High School Bullying can affect a person life forever. Bullying doesn't always have to be physical but starting a rumor about someone and forcing others to go along with it has far reaching consequences.
Maddie and Mac has a lot to overcome but true love prevails.
The reader does an ok job, not great, not exceptional.

Story... 4 star
This is a series that has been on my reading radar FOREVER, so when it came time to pick out another audio, it came to mind. I'm so happy that I chose to listen to this audiobook. These aren't really long books, so on audio, they last about 6 hours. That's PERFECT for me because I don't get a whole lot of audiobook time.
This was a good one. I thought the romance was really sweet and the narrator did an amazing job with the inflections and voices. Maddie has been burned both by men and the McCarthy family. It was a great conflict for the book set-up as Mac quickly falls for her, but she is REALLY reluctant to get involved with him.
I liked how Mac was all in and she wasn't. I really like that set-up for books, and thought it was especially effective in this book because Mac is the rich, hunky "catch", whereas most people really look down on her on the island. I thought Maddie was a great character. She's been so incredibly wronged, you just can't help falling in love with her and the strength she exhibits. She's extremely proud and independent and strong and you have to admire her gumption in the face of everything she's gone through. I liked her and I loved Mac that he immediately saw that everything the island says about her is so wrong. He SEES her and knows that she's so much more. It's almost an insta-love for him which rarely works for me as a reader, but I'll admit, it definitely worked for me in this book.
I'll admit when the book started, I loved Mac, but I know that Marie Force has written a whole series about the McCarthy family and was immediately worried about the rest of the series....because early on, the McCarthy's DO NOT make a good impression. Seriously, mom is NOT a nice person. *ugh* I really, really, really disliked her. But as the book moved along, I discovered more and I'm sold. I can't wait to read/listen to the whole series.

Not worth the credit. A big disapointment!
Would you try another book from Marie Force and/or Holly Fielding?
I loved the Fatal series by Marie Force which was why I tried the first in this series. It truly sounds like it could be a production of an earlier work because it lacks the depth, polish, character development and interesting dialog I was expecting from all the books in the Fatal series. I will never purchase another book narrated by Holly Fielding. I barely stayed awake through this one!
What do you think your next listen will be?
I will probably try the I-Team series by Pamela Clare. I listened to the sample and it sounded interesting and the narrator sounded good.
Would you be willing to try another one of Holly Fielding’s performances?
This narrator nearly put me to sleep. The love scenes were boring due to her monotone delivery. I mean, if a guy isn't any more excited than Holly Fielding made Mac sound, I would have asked him to leave and done my nails instead.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
It was predictable, but sweet.

Underdeveloped boring storyline
The characters are shallow and inconsistent, Maddie is a weak, shallow person that is whining about everything from the beginning - everyone in the story just goes with the assumption that its completely reasonable for adults to obsessively worry about someone else having or not having sex. Mac needs to man up and start mentioning that it is fine if Maddie is a sexual person and enjoys sex - good for her. And for a character depicted as down trodden and with low self esteem due to humiliation around her sex life, Maddie has a lot of tickets on herself assuming that Mac - good looking, successful, educated and loved by women - wants sex with her the moment he sees her. She seems to be constantly assuming he is ogling her - that’s a very healthy ego right there.

First time reading this author.
Would you listen to Maid for Love again? Why?
No, I do not listen or read a story more than one time.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved Mac. Although a little unrealistic...basically too good to be true...however I am reading a romance novel. Found it hard to find an ending spot each night...wanted to squeeze in just a little more!
Have you listened to any of Holly Fielding’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no, this was my first time with this author. Although other reviews were not very kind to her narration, I enjoyed her performance. She kept my attention!
Who was the most memorable character of Maid for Love and why?
Maddy was great...her story of who she was before meeting Mac was very realistic..I found myself quietly rooting for her!
Any additional comments?
Finished this book in 2 days and immediately downloaded next book in the series!

Enjoyable story; bad narration.
The story is light and easy with engaging characters and lots of emotional and sensual content. Not only can you not help but like Mac and Maddie, the book introduces a number of other characters that appear as main characters in other books in the series. Too bad the narration is so bad it sometimes compromises the the personality of the characters and detracts from the overall listening experience.
