awesome

Love this book, if you haven't been following this story from the beginning, please start with book one. this book is a flawless culmination of Kate Daniels struggle with who she is, and who she was born to be. I laughed, I cried, I got strange looks when grocery shopping. hands down my favorite book in the series. Rene Raudman was a great as usual. Her range of characters never fails to be impressive and consistent. she is the voice of Kate Daniels forever in my mind.
The only thing I can criticize is, this is the second to last book. it makes it all a little bitter sweet. I want so much for these characters to have a HEA, but I will miss them.

What an incredible book!

I have two favorite series. Kate Daniels is one of them and for good reason. The dialog is intelligent and comedic. The timing is superb and the world building is beyond measure. The story itself gets better and better and you can see it building towards a powerful conclusion. When this book came out I was overjoyed and have to admit that I have already listened to it twice and read it once. Now I want to go back to the beginning and do it all again. That's the power of these stories and the incredible writing team that makes it happen. Renee is a wonderful narrator and she has brought her trademark style to the audiobook. This series must be read in order but you will love it! 5 stars only because I can't give more!

Great addition to the series :D

4.5-5 stars

This was a great addition to the series. I still love Kate, Curran and the cast of friends, family and allies that make up the secondary characters in the series. We get to see our favorite characters while getting a couple new ones to add to the mix.

Kate is the protector of Atlanta and her father, Roland, has declared he wants to get to know her. In order to do so, he's built a castle right outside of Atlanta so they can "visit". They have a peace treaty that's supposed to last 100 years but when the story begins, Roland is already infringing on things, seemingly intent on sparking a war. Kate feels her hands are tied and news from the Oracles doesn't help the situation too much. With the threat of a battle imminent and little hope of beating Roland, Kate is scrambling to find a way around their supposed fate. She does well at finding some good allies but she also has trouble with fighting her darker nature. Curran was very supportive of Kate and has total faith in her but I did get a bit frustrated with a couple friends that seemed too willing to believe Kate would turn bad at the drop of a hat. Kate does get past her issues and the doubters and (with her friends and allies) confronts Roland and wins the battle. The war is still going but Kate, Curran and friends manage to surmount this hurtle and are ready for what's to come.

This was a really enjoyable story. I just love all the characters and don't really have any complaints outside the those that were quick to doubt. Overall, it was a great story and a really good progression of the series. I'd highly recommend this series. :D

Another awesome addition.

So much has happened in this series that I decided to read it all over again from the beginning. I enjoyed this series better the second time around and I have a feeling that in the future I may go back and listen to them all over again. Kate is such a badass, sarcastic character, I just love her. I also love all the side characters and feel like they have become family, messed up and deranged but still family. There is so much adventure and action in this book that it has flown by. I think this series would also appeal to guys. Yes there is romance but it is minimal in the overall scheme of the story. There is a lot happening in this edition, Andrea has her baby and finally Kate and Curran get hitched. Narrator is great, to me she is Kate, she does great distinguishing other characters. I look forward to more book either in this series or in Julie and Derrek's series.

REALLY that's one heck of an ending

Oh my this rocked my world. The book was well worth the wait. I was a Lott worried as Kate's support group had me very upset. It felt like they were turning on her rather than helping her cope.

What I love the best is that those characters whom were to have been the enemy seemed to be the best alliances.

Too good for words !!!!!

Good storyline continues

Nine books into the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews and I continue to enjoy them. The alternate world where the story is set and where Tech and Magic flow in unpredictable waves that change the world dynamic continues to provide a unique and intriguing backdrop for the series. The husband and wife team of Ilona Andrews provide a good mix of action, sarcastic humor, magic and romance. Many of the series favorite characters are back in this story but most of the story concentrates on Kate.

Kate and Curran are within two weeks of their wedding and Kate's father continues his malevolent machinations. This book seemed to be a bit heavy on the romance with the wedding backdrop, but there is plenty of action. In the end, it is a good story and the narration by Renee Raudman is excellent. That said, I have mixed feelings about this book. Not exactly sure why, but I did not enjoy it as much as some of the earlier books. Those who enjoy the Kate Daniels series will undoubtedly enjoy this book.

Loved it

I'd liked a little different ending but it's okay. Hopefully the next one will tie up that last lose end.

Renee did a great job as always.
