The contentious High Magi convene to constitute the new Arcane Orders, while the fanatical Royal Censorate of Magic plots defeat them and the thousands of hedgemagi, witches and footwizards they terrorized now see Minalan as a hero. The sinister Family schemes to promote Duke Rard II to become King Rard I of the newly united Kingdom of Castalshar - over a pile of bodies, if necessary. And suddenly, out of the sky fall dragons in the service of the Dead God to strike at the strength of the nascent Kingdom.

this is a great book and a great addition to the series. I cannot wait for the next one to be released on Audible

Best of the three. A fun story all around.

It was a bit tedious to have main character seem to be a genius with military and people management. Yet dumb as a rock in politics. But it is a minor annoyance. Worth a credit.

This is the third book in this series and I cannot rate it more highly. This series is so good that I only find myself sad that all the books in the series are not coming out more quickly.

great addition to the series

i liked book. Most of the book, the goblins are a background story then in at the big finish. so much to explore in this world

Great series

I am surprised that this well- conceived and engaging series is not more well known. The only negative is that I didn’t realize until it was too late that the entire series is not available in audiobook format. My only criticism of the book and series are technical issues with the recording (it sounds like the narration is sped up in places) that’s make it difficult to understand at times. Also, the world is a bit sexist/reliant on gender roles. I understand the replication of the feudal era, but it’s a fantasy series so a bit more reimagining would have been in order.

It's complex without dragging and the characters are well represented as individuals with unique perspectives. Very enjoyable!
