Publisher's summary

Santino is my king. My lover. My husband.

He’s the head of the Cavallo crime family, and the moment he choked my vows from me, my life was bound to his.

I’m done fighting my fate, until I hear two rumors, and I’m shaken to the core.

One rumor about the past - that I wasn’t the first bride Santino took.

Another about the future - a new bride is about to be taken.

Changing the old ways is like dousing the flames of hell with tears.

But I married the devil himself, and when I vowed to obey, I lied.

Book two of three in the The Dilustro Arrangement.

What?!?!?!

I was so absorbed that when ending hit, I literally shouted “Noooo!”

I love these characters and the dynamics between them. I NEED Mafia Queen, like right now.

Loved the narrators.

Heroine is annoying

Violetta is so frustrating. I mean, I’m a defiant girl so good for her for standing up for herself. HOWEVER, she was careless and made stupid decisions constantly throughout the book. She was stubborn to the point of annoyance!!! I found myself saying “god not again. Just shut up” so many times. It’s like she intentionally putting herself and Santino in constant danger! She’s an idiot! I love Santino but no way would he let his woman walk all over him like she does. I loved the first book but the 2nd was frustrating. I’m hoping the 3rd is better.

Santino and Violetta

I thought the first book eas full of surprises. This one ends on a cliffhanger. Santino makes an effort with Violetta and in doing so she finds out about her sister and Santino. She also learns more about his connection to her father. Bring in Damiano and his connection to Santino and her father and things go sideways. I really can't wait for the last book.q

Mixed emotions, but ready for book 3

Book 1 ended on such a high that you were dying to get to book 2..now that I’m here, I’m still yearning for more…more information, more action, more understanding..just more. Then just when I’ve decided that I cannot continue, I’m thrown back again into a cliffhanger that has me dying for book 3 and I can’t stop now.

You think in this book that all of the secrets will finally come out and to some degree it does, but at the same time, I am struck dumbfounded by how hard Violetta is fighting for a woman she barely knows, how much of this “Italian” life her aunt and uncle never truly prepared her for but always knew she had to participate in. While Violetta may be fighting a good fight for all women in this lifestyle, her insubordinate behavior and complete and utter naïveté at the customs and traditions of their world is striking. It’s only because Santino strives to not be “that” guy that she is not physically punished for not only her mouth but her actions as well. Unless I am completely surprised in book 3, she will only be betrayed horribly by the one person she sought to protect..but the story isn’t over, so I have to wait to see if they not only survive the upheaval, but also survive by coming together and working as a team. There is still more to discover for Santino and Violetta and I hope they don’t leave scorched earth in their wake.

Wow! She's done it again! LOVED IT!!

Another great writing job by CD Reiss! She never disappoints! The Mafia Series is a must for anyone who wants a mix of "The Godfather" and her steamy senual writing mixed together for a powerful love story of the King and Queen of the Mafia world.

Captivating!

Daaayum! What just happened! I am trying to wrap my mind around what happened in that cliffhanger. I didn’t see that coming, but it has an unexpected surprise that is so jaw-dropping good! This entire book had me captivated from the first page and no amount of guessing could have prepared me for what went down. Mafia King is the second book in The DiLustro Arrangement trilogy--not a standalone. What can I say—Santino and Violetta are full of surprises. Santino becomes progressively obsessive and consumed with keeping Violetta safe because of an event that previously happened and this starts a chain of events that are disastrous. Santino, the monster, is the perfect anti-hero that I hated at first, but then you can’t help but to fall in love with this villain. Violetta gets a backbone and she is a force to be reckoned with. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat to find out what happened next. Not all of its surprises are pleasant ones, but there is a certain satisfaction to experiencing a thread that is so obstinately unexpected. I feel like I got off a crazy roller coaster ride from hell! Find out what happened to Santino and Violetta after their plan goes awry—you will be astonished! There are several twists and turns within the story that will tempt the characters in ways they could have never envisioned. C.D. Reiss has constructed a deliciously deceptive dark Mafia romance that will lure you into the wee hours and beyond and you will not be able to put this book down. A MUST READ! You won’t regret reading Mafia King! I can’t wait to read the next book.
