A fun story that was timely and topical as much as it was nostalgic.

Loved the characters, the story and the quick-witted dialogue. The audiobook performance was the icing on the cake.

Sounded like RDA MacGyver eh!

Really enjoyed bringing classic Mac to the modern age. Hope there will be more of these. John Pirhalla was the next best thing to having Richard Dean Anderson narrate. Did an excellent job capturing MacGyver’s voice and mannerisms.

it was great to hear. if not, see MacGyver again The only way the book could have been better is if they had hired. Richard Dean Anderson to narrate the MacGyver bits. but what do I know? I humbly recommend that you listen for yourselves.

A thrilling addition to the series

This could easily be a film for the tv series! Loved it! Hope we get more books soon.

Feels a lot like 80’s MacGuyver

Like the title says, it feels like 80’s MacGuyver. Both the good and the bad. The story is a mishmash of outlandish and pulpy plotlines, which is charming if you want an extended 80’s MacGyver episode. It’s missing the monologues and more sciencey explanations that stood out in the original show too. Mac is true to his roots though and feels like the same character as played by RDA, but, due to the fact that the series creator only owns the rights to MacGyver, there are no other recurring characters, no Phoenix Foundation, Jack Dalton, Penny, etc.

I would have appreciated a little more world building and character development to help this feel less like a one-off and more like a foundation for a longer series, but I did honestly enjoy the story all the same.

Fans of the 80’s series ought to enjoy it! It’s worth giving it a try.

There need to be many many more MacGyver audiobooks. Love this story. Fantastic Work guys.

So much fun

There were some minor issues, a cliche death, some accent wobbling, but overall this was so much fun. It felt like a really long episode, and true to the character. I really hope there will be more.

Better than the show?

Ok so the show in all its forms was good. But like Audible says the pictures are in Your Head! This was a Great book.
Loved the characters and plot. Just the right amount of development and pacing. I was very happy. Not just for long time fans.
Performance was great and the story really made for great pictures in my head. Just a great start I hope for many more.
