At a meeting, Lysistrata persuades the women of the warring cities to withhold sexual privileges from their men. She has also persuaded the older women of Athens to seize the Acropolis. As the women sacrifice a bottle of wine to the gods in celebration of their oath, they hear the sounds of the older women taking the Acropolis, the fortress that houses the treasury of Athens. Unfortunately, Lysistrata’s policy triggers a war between the sexes....
