Lynda La Plante - Jane Tennison

Loved the interview. Ms. La Plante is very delightful. I read the first set of books decades ago, and I still remember the series. I am glad that she has revisited a younger Jane Tennison. When I read the series and watched the show, I always wondered if the character was treated as poorly as I thought.

Thank you, Ms. La Plante for the introduction of Detective Inspector Jane Tennison and now the younger version who will grow into her formidable self.

Brilliant interview

Listening as I sew. I love that Lynda said about being able to read as you do something else. I frequently pop my Bluetooth headphones on as I clean my flat, and do the washing up etc. All mundane jobs go better with a book.

My one quibble is hearing her say people think all blind people read Braille

I’m registered blind. I lost most of my sight as an adult (my sight loss was confirmed and it’s cause diagnosed about 3 weeks before my 55th birthday- it is very difficult to get Braille lessons with a teacher physically there as an adult. I would have to do a correspondence course which is cheap enough but the equipment I would need is quite expensive and I have no guarantee I’d be able to learn (I certainly can’t work out the Braille on bleach or medication).

I’m loving learning the authors and narrators points of views in this series of interviews

Thank you Audible
