Discipleship is a central concern for the church today. How are we to live out the call we have to follow Christ in the midst of our daily lives? One of the most radical insights of the Reformation was Martin Luther's commitment to the priesthood of all believers. This was a commitment that all Christians have full access to God and full responsibility to be ministers. This was something to unleash the power of God's people in new and bold ways. Yet 500 years later, the priesthood of all believers is still underutilized by the church. This little book will look at three things that Luther finds grounded in the work of Christ and that are now to be carried out by followers of Jesus as they continue his work. These practices: proclamation, prayer and sacrifice form a simple pattern for Christian living as disciples in the 21st century. This little book shares these key elements in ways that will challenge leaders in the church today to rethink how we equip people for a Christian life and how we order our time together as a church.
