The moment Lucy Harrington turned 18, she followed her dream. She applied for a spot on The Next Big Model, walked away from her foster family of three years, and dropped out of high school. She’d had many challenges over the years, but nothing was going to get in the way of her destiny.

Except maybe herself.

Six months later, Lucy’s living in a tiny apartment, working at The Pie Whole pizza restaurant and hoping no one recognizes her from the most publicly humiliating moment in her life. Unfortunately, not only is she recognized, it’s by none other than Dean Turner, the gorgeous rising star of the hit new show Avondale.

After a rocky start, Lucy and Dean agree to help one another. She needs to learn to move on and get her confidence back. He needs to learn that there’s more to life than just work and unwavering drive. loved it!

I was a bit skeptical because it was young adult book but I love romance in general, so I said "what the heck. I'll see if it's any good?" turns out it was way more better than just good; it was Great and it was also romantic and cute. The begining had me thinking the main character was full of herself but there was so much more underneath the surface. I guess that's why they say "Don't judge a book by its cover". I will definitely re-read again, this is a great book.

Sweet!

I love Anna Catherine Field's Ocean Grove series. Each one tells a story of sweet first love. Lucy and Dean' s story is the second of the series but I read it after reading several that came after. Lucy and Dean's story was probably my least favorite of the series but that by no means expresses my dislike of the book. On the contrary, it was great and I enjoyed it a lot. I just didn't relate to Lucy or Dean as much. They were both slightly self absorbed in the beginning but through a few life lessons grew to be wonderful characters. The narrator was a pleasure to listen to and brought the story to life.

Didn't Like The Romance And The Narrator

I expected to like this book more than I did .. but I guess not every book is my cup of tea even if it has the right cover for it

The story follows Lucy, she is from foster care and the moment she turned 18 she dropped out of school and went to follow her dreams of becoming a model, until she was on the reality show where they shaved her head and she went through a meltdown and left this world forever .. or so she thought because she meets Deen, a startup actor in the beginning of his career and he teaches her how not to give up on your dreams, specially with the new episode of the reality show to redeem her

I usually enjoy the romance between a celebrity and a normal girl, but this one wasn't to my liking, Deen's feeling were very conditional and so many times he nearly gave up on her.. and there was nothing exciting about their relatioship, and the ending was reallt bazar to me .. all and all I didn't like this book hopefully the rest of the series will be better from now on

I don't know why are they letting the same narrator narrate the whole book .. she is so robotic and I don't like her performance
