Publisher's Summary

Caitlin is spending the summer on the windswept island that is her home. She is caught between girlhood and maturity, and feels utterly isolated from the rest of the world. Then she meets Lucas, who is the embodiment of freedom and honesty. She is instantly drawn to him. But Caitlin must also grapple with the darker forces that seem to be confronting her family. Lucas himself further complicates matters when he is hunted for an awful crime that Caitlin herself becomes involved in. This gripping story, which takes place over one incredible month, will captivate young adult readers.

Narrator is amazing!!

I read this book in middle/high school a couple of times. I am a big fan of Brooks.
This was the first I’ve had it read to me.
Amazing!!! Looking for more books by the narrator now!

I read this 10 years ago and still loved it.

I read this over 10 years ago when I was at school. I was probably the same age as Kate in the book when I first read it, I think that's why I got so emotionally attached to her story. Over the years I forgot what happened in the book but I always remembered how it made me feel so when I started listening to Audiobooks I had to re read it and I forgot how beautifully heartbreaking it is. You feel every emotion Kate feels and you hope and pray for her happy ending. Its funny and sad all at the same time.
