On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. Publisher's Summary
Carrie Vaughn's Low Midnight spins out of the Kitty Norville series on the wave of popularity surrounding Kitty's most popular supporting character: Cormac Bennett, a two-minded assassin of the paranormal who specializes in killing lycanthropes. In his first solo adventure, Cormac, struggling with a foreign consciousness trapped inside him, investigates a century-old crime in a Colorado mining town, which could be the key to translating a mysterious coded diary... a tome with secrets that could shatter Kitty's world and all who inhabit it.
With a framing sequence that features Kitty Norville herself, Low Midnight not only pushes the Kitty saga forward but also illuminates Cormac's past and lays the groundwork for Kitty's future.

Vaugh lets Cormac come out and play!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If you love Kitty Norvelle Novel's and especial the Cormac character, then my friend you will love Low Midnight, so how could I not recommend. it. I have loved Kitty through all her adventures but Cormac has just been a delightful side dish that 1st Kitty, then Kitty and Ben could count on to always do the right thing. He was always the white hat who entered her novels by being hired to kill Kitty on air.. Only Kitty talked him out of it; as only Kitty could. And because basically Cormac is more the hero type.. Even if it is the dark, Wolverine style hero. Still he is kind of cool and now that he has another soul living inside him, who is not always pure; he has to be even more the good guy. Not that she is bad either; her motives are just sometimes cloudy.
What other book might you compare Low Midnight to and why?
That is a hard question, maybe a little Faith Hunter's skinwalker series for the Kitty parts but Low Midnight goes so far off that map into the sorcery, Maybe Ben Aa(something long) Midnight in Soho or over Soho. Only in how he talks to himself. Only Cormac is talking to the other person inside of him. And again there is Patrica Briggs Mercy Thompson Novel's for the Kitty parts, but again you are not into this novel. So it's hard to say who is like this novel. I mean who deals with Sorcery (Jim Batcher) but has the character talk to themselves all the way through because they are really two souls in one body perfectly at home sharing that one body.
Have you listened to any of Marguerite Gavin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I am not sure, I don't know who has done all the other Kitty books, besides this isn't like all the other Kitty books, I love who does all the other Kitty books, I love this book too. Well voiced. A +
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Towards the end at the big climax, but I will not spoil it for you, let's just say it rocked. Gavin voiced it well. And it was well written as are all of Vaugh's other books.
Any additional comments?
Low Midnight while not being about Kitty but set in her universe was the kick in the pants the series needed to keep from being dull, maybe we can have a book about Ben, but I would still like another Kitty book too please, as well as another Cormac book, Even a Rick book, Have fun in Kitty's world for a while.

I love this series
Interesting as the story moves on, but told from Cormick's pov. Big cliffhanger ending, but I was captured by the book from the first word to the last.
The narrator, Margurite Gavin is one of my all time favorites. She is the reason I found this series in the first place. No matter what she reads it's brilliant!

Interesting change of pace
This novel focuses on Cormack and Amelia. It does move the Roman story arc along a bit, but what it really does is develop the relationship between the two inhabitants of Cormack's body. Cormack deals with some of his own issues while solving a hundred year old magical murder.

BOOK REVIEW..........
I was so looking forward to reading this book. I love Cormack but didn't love this book. Lately Ms. Vaughn's books are so bogged down with history stuff that they are just getting boring. I'm glad this series is ending with the next book because I'm not sure I could continue reading it much longer.

Cormac and Amelia backstory
Would you consider the audio edition of Low Midnight to be better than the print version?
Yes, the narration adds to it.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Low Midnight?
The ending. It sets up the next book to wrap up the 'long game'.
Which scene was your favorite?
I liked when Cormac had to confront his past when he ran into people who knew him when he hunted down supernaturals to kill them.
