Difficult as audio

Doing a cookbook as audio is not useful. The ingredients are listed out, but you can 'leave it open' there and check back easily. It moves on. The chapter breaks also don't line up with each recipe, thus it is not easy to find the start point of each one. If you ever want to come back to one it would be difficult to find.

I actually picked this up thinking it would be less recipes (although I expected some) and more discussion on approaches to cook with decreased calories. Things to substitute etc. It isn't really like this.

This might be a great book, but Audio just isn't a good format for this.

Narration by Catherine O'Conner is fine. She is well paced and easy to follow.

Good for what it is

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This is a recipe book, nothing more, nothing less. This is the second recipe book I've listened to, and I'm just not convinced this is a good format for them. It's hard to imagine cooking while listening to this. Having to backtrack and pause the reading constantly.

That said, some of the recipes sound really good. So that is a positive, and I might go through a couple and write them down to try later. However that brings me back to the problem I have with audio recipe books, they really don't offer anything over a text copy, but they do seem to take away from them.

The only place I can really see that as a good purchase is if you want to give a bunch of recipes to someone that can't read. This would be ideal for someone that can't read anymore, either from old age, or general inability. Otherwise, I think you're probably better off getting the text copy.

Lots of Yummy Recipes

I have enjoyed yet another book by Charlie Mason. I think I book marked over 90% of the recipes. So far I have tried the smoothies and the easy two ingridient cookies. All have been delicious. I cannot wait to try more.
Catherine O'Connor is a fabulous narrator and has a nice voice to listen too.

Convenient and easy.

I like that all the dishes take less than an hour to make and are only 300 calories.
I can't wait to try the cheesy spinach lasagna and skinny cheeseburger macaroni bake. Plus there are delicious deserts as well. This book is convenient to turn on in the grocery store while grabbing the ingredients.
The narrator seems to lose her place in the book at times, but quickly recovers.

This will be my last audible cookbook

I would love to see this book in hard cover, but it is not for me in this format. A cookbook should be easy to navigate and where you get an overview over all ingredients and cookingmethod on one visually pleasing page. This is not what you get from Audible when buying a cookbook.

Good choices for low calorie meals

This is convenient and easy to follow book of low-calorie recipes. It has some pretty good tasting meals for anyone looking to cut some calories from their daily meals. Easy to follow and listen to while you prep and cook the meals, they are a good choice to keep your hands clear of anything you need to read while you do your work. The narration is solid and gets everything across clearly and at a good pace that you can follow while cooking.

Good variety of recipes

This is a handy little audible cookbook with recipes that all are less than 300 calories and take less than an hour to make. For an audiobook with no pictures, the recipes still sound really tasty and flavorful. The author isn't afraid to spice things up. It even made ground turkey sound appetizing!

The book is broken down into breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert recipes, and uses everything from the stovetop, oven, to a crockpot. There's a lot of variety here and I'm excited to try them out. There are also 3 free companion cookbooks that make it even more worth it.

The narration was done well, the narrator has a clear voice that made it easy to understand her. I requested a copy of the audio, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Low Calorie Cookbook

A great compilation of Low calorie recipes. I really like that the high level nutritional breakdown is provided for each of the recipes.

I wish there was an accompanying pdf of the recipes, or at least a list of what time stamps to find them at. The chapters are broken down by meal, so that helps, but It will still be very difficult to pinpoint exactly where each recipe is in the audio copy of the book.

Eat healthier with these recipes

In trying to eat a bit better, I'm glad to have found these short cookbooks. The cheap price keeps me from feeling too invested in any one book and lets me try several different ones affordably. The clear narration is nice and I can speed up or slow down the recipes to any speed that works for me.

This author is pretty prolific. I decided to give his diet-oriented cookbooks a shot after having good luck with his appliance-oriented cookbooks (crock pots, soup makers, etc).
