Publisher's summary

In her sexiest novel yet, acclaimed romance writer Zuri Day reveals how losing a double-dare can be oh-so satisfying. Eden Anderson is more than a little annoyed at her bad luck when she gets stuck with Jansen McKnight as a temporary roommate. Not only did he torment her as a child, but he’s also a meat-loving, gun-toting cop. So when Jansen bets he can seduce Eden, she can’t wait to show him up. But things aren’t quite black and white—and only time will tell who will come out on top.

Just Can't...

I tried but I just can't finish this book. This narrator sounds congested and the dialogue in the first few chapters is so childish and stupid that I just can't give it any more of my time. Maybe a different narrator would have given it a different flow and could have saved it, but this one made it a definite no for me.

Double standards

Normally I enjoy Day’s novels even though the heroine tends to get away with doing things that the hero gets in trouble for(like spending time with another man) this has been the worst case of double standards I’ve read from Day. Eden was so closed minded that she acted like only her view was the only valid one to the point of not even listening to the man she claimed she loved. Jansen was very patient with her and deserved a lot better... but love can be blind I guess.

So Real

I love the way Zuri tells a love story that is real. A story that explains how true love is tested by everyday experiences. Real and true but still feels good!

the story line

I truly enjoyed the book. the peaceful woman falls in love with the cop from DC. showed the difference in background doesn't matter once love comes in the picture.

Eden and the cop

Didn’t really care for either MMC’s. She was annoyingly rigid (vegetarian, can’t stand the thought of guns, refuses self defense, etc) and he was way too possessive for me. The story dragged with lots of useless information and dialogue. And after trudging through nine hours, everything was quickly wrapped up in a pretty little bow. Very rushed. I can’t say that I’d recommend this book.

Eden, girllll!!

I liked this book. Eden was frustrating and overtly dogmatic! I guess that’s the sign of a good author, to take the reader there. If I don’t have to remind myself, these characters aren’t a real people, I don’t wanna read it.

Blue

The story was okay. The female character was a little too one dimensional, it took other to get her to see past her own opinions.

Nice story but…

Nice story, but at times Eden was a bit immature for her age and the narrator was dry and seemed tired!!
