Publisher's Summary

The issues that make monogamous dating daunting for people of color - shaming and exclusion by white partners, being fetishized, having realities of everyday racism ignored - occur in polyamorous relationships, too, and trying “not to see race” only makes it worse. To make polyamorous communities inclusive, we must all acknowledge our part in perpetuating racism and listen to people of color.

Love's Not Color Blind puts forward the framework - through research, anecdotal testimony, and analogy - for understanding, identifying, and confronting racism within polyamorous communities.

A must read

This book is amazing! It’s a concise, very practical, informative and entertaining book. It‘a a great example of “calling in not calling out” in book form and was inspiring to me as a qoc! This book’s content is focused on polyamory and it applicable to organizers of any kind of intentional community.

definitely one of my poly-am role models

Kevin starts out by letting you know this is more of a sociology book dealing with poly issues but I think this is recommended reading for anyone interested in looking into polyamory. I loved the personal stories that were included and listened to the book twice in one month! definitely going on my faves list.

Required Reading for Non Traditional Humans

Are you in a non-traditional relationship or community? Are you in a relationship where at least one partner is BIPOC?
This book is for you. I’m a non-monog queer, white femme and small business owner and I learned SO MUCH about how to be a better partner AND business owner/community member from this book. Kevin shares his experiences and the experiences of others from outside his own sphere to create my favorite relationships book to date. I highly recommend this easy read.

Insightful discussion of polyamory from the margins

I’ve had the honor to meet Kevin twice and have become a regular reader of his blog. This book provides a wonderful perspective on being non-monogamous and having to navigate issues of race at the same time. Kevin’s words are great and his speaking voice and style do them great justice. I have both the book and the audible recording. When I re-read the book, I will *definitely* hear Kevin’s voice!

excellent read

I enjoyed the intersectional feminist approach that Kevin took to writing this book. The stories were relatable to me as a disabled woman in polyamorous spaces.
