I saw mixed reviews for this book, so maybe it's not for everybody. I really liked it. Some repetition could have been edited better. The readers did a great job giving us multiple characters.

Great listen!
Surprisingly little loving by the lake, but there’s enough all things considered. The characters are older and spend most of their time telling stories. If you’re older, like maybe 50+, and maybe American, you should get all the old references.

Seems to be a lot of true stories like my parents sometimes tell me. Some of the stories touch on famous events. Many are personal. Very entertaining.

Plenty to talk about
Not really a typical romance novel, but the stories sounded true to life although sometimes a bit extreme. I liked the different voices and sound FX. I'm recommending this to my audiobook club.

A movie for the ears

Surprisingly good
A couple of people shooting the breeze while camping might sound like a boring concept, but their stories cover decades of personal dramas and historical events. Some big surprises.
