It is a truth universally acknowledged that the disastrous first meeting of Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet at the Meryton Assembly provided each with a ready-made set of prejudices to apply to the other. But when a horrific rural accident reveals Darcy to be a man of active, intelligent benevolence, and Elizabeth, in the absence of her appalling family, to be an extraordinary lady of courage and decision - then, surely, the course of true love will run smoothly.

Darcy is the Epitome of Duty

Ending very abrupt

Very angst well written story with many ups and downs. I really enjoyed it until the abrupt ending. Everything is FINALLY resolved and they’re going to get married - the end. There’s no wedding no wedding breakfast and just a single sentence epilogue. David Pickering did a wonderful job narrating.

Great Variation with Excellent Narration

I very much enjoyed this story - the characterization of the characters, especially of Darcy. I thought the writer’s repeated use of Darcy’s memories of his father’s words about remembering he was a Darcy was very good. More than other variations, this brought home to me how the man Darcy became could be so rigid and haughty. However, his utter weariness with this stance was carefully shown. I very much appreciated Darcy’s dying friend’s advice to him. The new characters, new twists, and story variations ALL helped to create a truly wonderful story. David Pickering’s narration was very well done. I look forward to this author’s next book.

Lovers Meeting

Loved the ebook, and the audiobook is really good. Many humorous parts; I especially enjoyed Mrs. Bennet’s early wacky comments such as confusing Mr. Bennet’s comparison of Lizzy to the intrepid Boudicca and calling her “Bow-legged Caesar”.

David Pickering does a great Darcy with an unhappy and depressed voice.
