Great YA Romance

I don't read a lot of YA romance so I wasn't sure about this book when I picked it up, but I love Sara Ney, so I went with it! I was NOT disappointed.

Harper and Easton have a laugh out loud meet cute which really set the tone for the story. Their story brings back so much of the drama that goes on in high school. I felt like I just went through it myself much less endured it with my kids a few years ago. There are the popular kids, the athletes and then others that fit in different buckets. Easton surprised me because he was an athlete, but yet didn't have the all star status that the girl he liked did and was all tongue tied around her.

Harper blackmails Easton into being her prom date, but the more time that they spend together they both legitimately like each other. Their feelings are so tied into that blackmail, that neither of them really sees what they have found. There were times that I wanted to smack Easton, LOL, and tell him to wake up, but it was so true to what a high school boy is and goes through. My heart broke for Harper, but then again, it was definitely a learning thing for her.

I think this story is a great young adult one with a lot of teaching moments as well as a lot of heartfelt moments. I'd love to see Harper and Easton's relationship grow as they age.

I listened to the audio and loved it. It was well done and kept me engaged in the story.
