Publisher's summary

Some people work to pay the bills or send the kids to school or afford playtime. Ex-army medic physician assistant Glenn Archer works, as much as she possibly can, to atone for all the lost lives on her conscience. No matter how many patients she helps save at the Rivers Community Hospital, it will never be enough, but it helps her look at herself in the mirror in the morning. Mariana Mateo needs to make a new life, one without the daily reminders of all she's lost and far away from the suffocating sympathies of her well-meaning family, and moving to a place as different as possible from the bustling LA she grew up in seems like a good idea. A cousin she didn't know she had is the only person who knows her in the tiny upstate New York farming community, and that's just the way she wants it. When working side by side with Glenn Archer in the ER makes Mari remember what desire feels like, Mari determines to ignore the feelings, which isn't all that difficult since Glenn is as unapproachable as the beautiful but remote mountains.

A Rivers Community novel.

So predictable but entertaining for lesbians

I enjoyed the reader but sadly not enough character development. Sometime there were a lot of caricatures and had me lost .I did listen while working outside and it was entertaining. Easy spoon fed book. I do buy these books strictly for the easy listening.

Radclyffe never fails...

Once again Radclyffe nails it! Sweet story. I don't think the narrator did the book justice. Would have been far more enjoyable if Abbey Craden or Nicole Zansiralla was the narrator.

Overall this was a great continuation of the Rivers's Family saga. Radclyffe really makes you connect with the characters so quickly that it's impossible not to want to continue reading and discover what's happening in this now extended family of mine. Hahaha.

narration not good

enjoyed the story , but the narration was very tough to get through. Facebook would probably be a good read but I wouldn't listen to it again

Great story.

This book was a nice addition to the Rivers series. The characters were all loveable, and the reader would have no problem connecting with them. i was slightly disappointed to finally have a Latina lead character and the narrator couldnt give her a proper ascent .
This was a really light romance with very little drama. when there was a small issue the characters cleared it up quick.
This was very enjoyable.

Love the Rivers family

Small town Americana with no small minded characters. Always look forward to Radclyffe's books! The narration was good too.

Another work of genius.

It would be nice if the narrators would be consistent in the rivers personalities. Flin went from a brooty sexy deep voice in the last book to a peppy cheerleader in this book. Another amazing story by Radclyffe that had my heart singing the whole time.<3

Love it

I love the Rivers series. I was a bit disappointed with the way too brief scene at the end that deserved a lot more attention as it’s been built up since the first book! But I loved getting to know Glen! Great book!

It’s not bad

I Love Page McKinney, but I thought Abby Craden did so much better in the last book! I can’t imagine some of the characters voices in this book. It was pretty much the same! Not bad story. I’m going to move on to the next one.

Abrupt ending

It felt like a forced ending with a lot of skipped over parts. I thought I missed a chapter because the ending came out of nowhere.
