Their love is forbidden by rules, religion, and risk. Yet, still they can't resist. Captain Hugh Wilkes is on his last tour of duty in Afghanistan. Story
When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing - not even a smear of blood - to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36. They were married when Clare was 23 and Henry was 31. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. Publisher's Summary
Celine Patterson is a recent graduate eager to begin her career as a camerawoman, with the fashion world and all its glitz and glamour calling to her. Things aren't that simple, however, and she's forced to take a job making a documentary in the Peak District countryside with a mid-list British actor.
In spite of her initial disappointment - not only is the job not what she wanted, the pay is appalling, too - Celine warms to the project. The actor she's working with, Edward Robson, is kind, considerate, funny and a consummate professional. She realizes she can learn a great deal from him, and resolves to do so.
As the days of the shoot pass by, Celine grows increasingly fond of Edward, and that fondness quickly goes beyond the platonic. Convinced her crush is completely one-sided-he's over three decades her senior, for starters-she tries hard to ignore it, hoping the feelings will go away.
But then something happens to change Celine's opinion, and flip her world upside-down. How will she react? And can she emerge from this project with both her career and her heart intact?

Short & Sweet
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Enjoyable short story, but I did loose focus a few times due to the narrative at times becoming more story telling than performing. Xanthia has a beautiful voice, so I'm sure she will only improve with time. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy by the author, narrator or publisher.

Age doesn't matter in Love
I received this audiobook free for an honest review as a member of Pink Flamingo Productions Review Team. This is a quick, cute romance. You don't usually listen to a book where the male is over 30 years senior to the young woman in this romance. Celine falls for a handsome, rugged Edward. In this short story, their love comes quick, but it is still romantic. Enjoyed this book. The narrator did a great job with the characters and their personalities.

Short Age Gap Romance
Love Through A Lens by Lucy Felthouse is a short age gap romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Xanthia Bloom.
This is the second book of Lucy's that I have read and definitely won't be my last. I really enjoyed the romance that bloomed between Celine and Edward during their documentary trip.
Xanthia did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the near future.
I would recommend this book if you like age gap romances or contemporary romance.

This book whilst short covers everything that is need for a great quick read. Taking on a job nobody else wanted but knowing that it would help her career Celine takes on a job working for Edward. And well the unexpected happens whilst it is an older man younger woman story it is nothing over the top.

Fun age gap romance
I thought this book was well done. Celine is working for Edward, an actor, who wants to develop a documentary. The passion he has for the job comes through and Celine really respects the project and the older actor. That respect turns to attraction for both of them but they aren't sure if the other is interested. Celine's internal discussions were pretty funny and I enjoyed their interactions and the relative slow burn (relative because it's a 1.5 hour story but the author does a good job with the anticipation).
Xanthia Bloom did a good job. During her internal discussions, she had the audio sounds a little more distant which I thought was both good for differentiation and bad because it was a little distracting in the beginning. But she did a fine job with the pacing and differentiation of voices for the characters.

Love the slow burn!
Love the slow burn!
This story takes it time and allows for the couple to get comfortable as they get to know one another. That being said, this still takes place over only a week, but they aren't just jumping into bed with each other immediately without so much as a hello!
Celine Patterson is camerawoman early in her career trying fill her resume. Jobs are not plentiful for a newbie so she takes a low paying, hardworking gig as the one person crew for Edward Robson. He is an older mid-list actor making a documentary on a smaller than asked for budget. Knowing how much of a raw deal Celine is getting, Edward tries to do what he can to make up for it. As the attraction grows between the two, they both worry over if it's all in their head or is the other person feeling the same way.
Both characters come off as genuine people who put their own happiness over the opinions of others. And these two actually do something quite foreign in most stories and communicate! It's amazing what complications can be avoided if you just have a conversation first!
I found this couple's interactions quite endearing. I was rooting for them the whole way. Regardless of the age difference, they are still two adults who want to find love and companionship.
The Narrator of this audiobook is Xanthia Bloom. She does Celine and Edward justice. There is good distinction between the two and the story narration. That is most if not all of the parts of the story.
Overall I give this 5 of 5 stars!
