Story
Can a person’s life change in just one day? How about seven? This is the story of seven pivotal days in Evan Donaldson’s life. Evan was a teenage street hustler when Father Valentin talked him into coming to Saint Bartholomew’s Academy. In that one day, Evan’s entire life changed. That’s the day he met his roommate, Clay Mueller, and the day Evan began to live. But Evan’s life would change again and again, from abuse to first love, to separation and heartbreak, and eventually to starting his own family.

Sam reminds me of the horses we rescue. Scarred, skittish, and…strong. Beautiful. He’s a bit of a hat-stealer, and, truth be told, I’m a little leery of his chosen profession. The things he does in front of a camera...well, it makes me blush just thinkin' about it. But if that scar on his face is any indication, he could use somebody at his back. I aim to be that person. And yeah, some of my parts get confused by the fact that he’s all delicate and sparkly, but that’s not important. Even if the good hand lotion has somehow made it into the tack room.

Story
Between running a garage full of beefed-up gear-head mechanics and bailing my idiot brother out of trouble every other week, the last thing I have time for is a relationship. I’ve tried it too many times, and the ridiculous reasons I always find to end it have become a running joke around the garage. But I’ve learned my lesson. No. More. Boyfriends. I don’t care how many times Porter falls asleep drunk in my bed or how cute he looks covered in oil smears while I teach him how to fix up the vintage car he has rusting away in his garage; I’m not going to fall for him.

Publisher's Summary
Spurned by his father and driven from his home, Stone Hillyard is struggling to find shelter in the Michigan winter when he lucks upon the horse farm run by Geoff Laughton and his partner Eli. They take him in, warm him up, and give him a job working with their No Boundaries therapy riding program.
A drunk driver left Preston Harding unable to walk, and after months of hard work, his therapist recommends Geoff and Eli’s program. But Preston’s anger and arrogance nearly get him kicked out until Stone intercedes on his behalf, despite Preston’s insults. It’s a small act of kindness that helps open Preston’s eyes.
Stone and Preston will support each other as they face their families’ disapproval and fight old secrets. They’ll learn - sometimes the hard way - just how love can mean freedom for them both.

Great Story, Great Characters
I enjoy listening to Andrew Grey's novels. They are romance novels with a very small amount of tension and drama. His work always keeps my interest and makes for light, romantic reading. If I had one criticism, it would be that all of his m/m scenes could be easily discarded since many of them make me cringe due to their odd phrasing and strangely named body parts. Having said that, I would still recommend any of Andrew Grey's novels.
As for this story in particular, I really enjoyed the two main characters. They are perhaps the most fleshed out of the Farm Series. The idea that one could be paralyzed and feel your life is over is very real and believable. To see the two characters work through and overcome paralysis is a beautiful story to base a romance on. I can see these characters together for a lifetime of love and hope.

Freedom is to love and be loved in return
Would you listen to Love Means Freedom again? Why?
Yes. Touching on a subject that is all to often ignored or pushed away Love Means Freedom shows life can be put back on track with time careing friends and love ones.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Love Means Freedom?
When Stone opens up about his past to Adele, if only we all had someone like this lovely strong caring woman who doesn't judge only supports with kindness wisdom and humour.
Which character – as performed by Sean Crisden – was your favorite?
I love Robbie. He may be blind but he sees straight to the truth. He might be frightened of the unknown but he's willing to try to love and to be there for others.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The first time Stone trusts Preston to make love to him. After everything Stone's been through to finally trust again knowing he's going to loose brought up tears.

Love the Andrew Grey's "Love Means" series, but...
If you could sum up Love Means Freedom in three words, what would they be?
happily ever after
What did you like best about this story?
Story is sweet with mild conflict and a happy ending. Perfect for when I need an uplifting, uncomplicated story.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
This is the part that follows the but... in my title. While many of his voices are OK, some are really off-putting. Most especially is Jeff's voice; Jeff is supposed to be a big, strong guy and narrator makes him sound like a silly twink. I really can't imagine Eli falling in love with this character image.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
A heartwarming love story

WTF
In Chapter Six it starts Stalling and skipping that's why Over all's a 2.5 star in my book. Although this site won't allow half star ratings. the performance and Storyline are five star all the way. I really love this series this kind of reminds me of RJ Scott's Montana and Texas Series' even has the same narrator I believe. Mr. Gray and Ms. Scott should team up bringing these characters together since they shar the same Primmes. I'm sure it's nothing more than a glitch Hope it can be fixed or replaced soon AND YOU'LL LISTEN AND LOVE IT.

Odd characterizations
Enemies to lovers... it's a trope. This one seems fairly well done. I actually cared about these guys by the end of their story and was really hoping they would have their HEA.
I'm not sure I completely understood the point of Stone's parental backstory twist. It didn't really seem to add anything to his character. Unless this is referenced in an upcoming story, it seems to have been a waste of time.
I'm not in love with the vocal characterizations in this. Geoff comes off as a twink compared to Eli. Maybe it's just not how I imagined them sounding, but it was annoying.

Growth
Once again the farm opens its heart and home to another who is in need of love and a safe place. Stone needs work and a safe place to land. Preston needs therapy but he also needs to rethink how he conducts himself in life. But Stone sticking up for him even when he's been rude opens the door way for Preston's personal grown and a budding relationship. Of course it's never a straight line to happiness but eventually the road leads home.

Yay! Sean Crisden
Any additional comments?
I'm so glad it's Sean Crisden who narrates most of this series! Mr. Grey is in his element when he creates stories of love built on imperfections and heartaches. And, when you have a great narrator who can bring those characters alive, you get perfection.
Although Preston and Stone are an unlikely couple, they learn the hard way that the journey to love is built on communication and trust. Fab story!

A Heartwarming Story of Love and Healing
This was my first Andrew Grey novel, and I just loved it. Both of the characters are damaged, one mentally warn down by his life to this point, and the other by an accident that left him unable to walk. Out of this comes a love story that anyone would want to be a party to.
