Publisher's Summary

Parker King is the number-one tennis player in the world with a real talent for getting women in her bed. To prepare herself for the one title she's never won - and avoid the press and her ex - she retreats to a secluded home in Press Cove, Alabama. There she'll also be safe from the Soldiers of God who've threatened to kill her for what they see as her depraved lifestyle.

Commercial pilot Captain Sydney Parish loves the order that comes from a well-constructed plan for everything, her only failure being her personal life. She hopes a vacation will help heal her bruised heart, but soon finds that might not be possible when she discovers she's one house over from Parker King.

When Parker and Sydney meet, sparks fly, but not from attraction. They have the summer to see if they have a love match, or will the Soldiers of God kill their chance for a relationship?

a bit torturous

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I liked many aspects of the book, but one thing I don't like is when the main characters are just about to have sex and one of them actually answers the damn phone. That's incredibly rude.

I loved this book.

I really enjoyed Love Match by Ali Vali. Excellent story, Great characters and plenty of suspense. Excellent narration by AJ Ferraro. You don't have to love tennis to love this audio.

Good

Don't let the three star rating fool you. I enjoyed this story. But when I first read it, it was quite a bit different. Was a little disappointed when it was not the story I had read years ago. The changes, some subtle, some blatant, definitely worked. But if you've been exposed to this story before (via a uber or fanfic site for those who understand *wink*), you may be let down by the changes.

Narration was distracting

I read this story before when it was an online the changes were not so bad I liked the online version better but it was still good the bigger issue was the narration almost made me give up the Whiny voice given to Parker was awful, & a lot of the other voices sounded the same I’d recommend this story in written form.

Ali Vali never disappoints

This is not the first book I listen to written by Ali Vali and like the other ones I have enjoyed it as well.
Narration by AJ Ferraro is a pleasure. So the combination was a great time filler for the New Year.

Did STEVEN UNIVERSE narrate this? ha

OK let me start by saying I really enjoyed this book and the story line, but the narrator's voice for Parker King sounded too much like Steven Universe to fully love. it's hard to imagine a hot tennis star when she sounds like a whiny, almost teenage boy. I'm thankful to Ali Vali for a sports themed book. great story and likeable characters. I'll just avoid this narrator from now on.

Great story!

Another wonderful book written by Ali Vali. Characters were well-developed and well rounded, and the story was one that was hard to put down. Narration wasn’t the best. When you have southern characters, they shouldn’t sound so clipped. At times it was hard to know what was narrative and what was dialogue. Luckily, the book still shined.

it was a little frustrating at first; watching them begin their relationship and do dumb stuff; but it got better and i was kinda surprised at the end. over all it was a really good book.

Disappointing

Considering the author planned to write a book based around a sport it seems unbelievable that no one who must have proof read, picked her up on numerous inconsistencies in language and regarding the actual match play! A sweet story but the inaccuracies were grating! All in all disappointing.
