I received this book free for an unbiased review. This is the beginnings of the setup to what I predict will be a great novel in the Twisted Love series. I enjoyed the characters and story thoroughly. I will definitely be getting the novel when it comes out.

My Thoughts on Love Lorn

This was a really good series starter by new to me author Amy Manemann.

I really enjoyed everything she managed to have going on in this short story. There was a who done it kind of mystery. There were two detectives investigating a case and all the interesting twists that came with that. And there was the attraction and slight romance between two of the characters, enough to satisfy my need for it.

The narrator for this book did a really good job. Her voice had a good energy and she had enough difference in tone between characters for me to follow along easily who was speaking.

Overall this story was well written and well narrated and I look forward to seeing what comes next.

I have read both books in this series and now I am listening to them. These two authors, Amy Manemann and Stacy Eaton are wonderful authors on their own, but put them together and watch out. These are fantastic books, I can't wait for the rest of the series.
In this, the first book, Evie is partners with Stephen Harris, as they work the Love Lorn case, sparks start to fly between them. Will they cross the line? Listen and find out! This is a great story!

Evie's backstory

Evie worked hard to make detective and doesn't appreciate her partner's condescending attitude. She joins in the middle of a serial killer, and the work is nonstop. She has tough decisions to make, personally and professionally. A great read.

Great romantic suspense!

Stacy Eaton and Amy Manemann have started this series off with a bang! Don't let the length fool you, though short, this well developed thriller is full of excitement and romance. This book introduces us to Detective Evie Harper and her partner Stephen Harris. These two are quite the pair, working to find a serial killer. Evie's first case, she is out to prove herself and she works hard to do just that. But there is an attraction to her partner that is proving to be an irresistible distraction. Will they cross that line between work and pleasure and does it impact their case? I loved this book, it's story shows how new blood can help push the experienced detective and help solve the mystery. The combination of characters is perfect and their story leaves us wanting more. Narrated by Tracy Rooney, the book is fast paced and wonderful entertainment. Can't wait for Stacy Eaton's contribution in the next book!

Love Lorn - Evie’s backstory

I really loved this introduction to the Twisted Love series. We are introduced to Detective Evie Harper and her partner. We see what type of a detective and person Evie is as she works to track down and capture a serial killer.

A word of warning... do not listen to (or read) the epilogue if you want to avoid a major spoiler for book 2, Love Torn!

Great storyline and enjoyable narration. I’m certainly looking forward to seeing where this series goes!

Great start to a new detective series

Rookie Detective Evie Harper is on her first homicide case. She and partner, Stephen Harris, must stop a serial killer who is terrorizing the women of Philadelphia. Being a rookie...and female...is hard but Evie plunders on with excellent investigative skills. Meanwhile, she is fighting the growing chemistry between her and her partner...until she doesn’t. When Evie and Harris crack the case, she feels that everything is great in her world, until Harris makes a questionable decision. What will Evie do next? Guess we’ll find out in Book 2 :))

Great Read

Love Lorn: The Twisted Love Series, Book One was a great read by Amy Manemann. Detective Evie Harper is determined to prove that her gender doesn’t define her. Her and her partner Detective Stephen Harris are working to track a serial killer. I absolutely loved reading Evie and Stephen’s story. I can’t wait to read more of this series.

Short and sassy

A fun detective tale which includes a romance. I appreciated the closed bedroom door activity. I look forward to reading or listening to the next one in this series. Terrific characters. Thanks to the author for providing a copy for my voluntary review.
