Publisher's summary

One wrong move, and she meets a guy with all the right ones….

Talia Dalton lives her life on cruise control. Despite her successful career as a professor, she prefers protecting her broken heart to taking chances. She’s calm, cool, collected, and steady. Until the morning she takes her eyes off that familiar road and almost runs over the sexiest man she’s ever seen. It may not be the best way to start the day, but it might be the type of shake-up she needs.

Male dancer Derek Grant has goals, and nothing is going to get in the way of achieving them. As a graduate student and the sole caretaker of his ailing father, he hasn’t much time for relationships. Then Talia crashes into his life. Sweet, pretty - and so buttoned-up that he can’t wait to help her cut loose.

For Derek, falling in love was a beautiful accident waiting to happen. And it might be exactly what Talia needs - if she’s willing to let go of the past and embrace every surprise Derek has to offer.

good 3rd book

i did like this book. the H is a sweetheart, but manly. the h is a bit passive but not bad. i think what i didn't love was that the H wouldn't compromise. He refused to see how him being an almost stripper made the h feel. Even at the end the H expected the h to just acccept he took off his clothes for money even though he was a certified accountant. He now had backers that made the need to dance to care for his father unnecessary, but he still refused, expecting the h to just suck it up and deal with it. not cool.

so that being said, i couldn't really get behind the H totally.

there is kinda dirty described sex.

Good book!

This third installment of the Sugar Lake series was a good addition. Talia and Derek's story was a bit different than other teacher/student stories in that Derek was not her student so it was not made into a cliche story line. The story line for the couple was different in that Derek was a care giver for a family member and that is relatable to many readers since his being a care giver is a major part of this book. I felt that both characters were well written in that Talia is rather an introvert and does not step outside of her comfort zone but she does come out more and Derek is more outgoing especially since he is an exotic dancer as well as a bar tender as a means to make money to fulfill his life dreams and goals. I continue to enjoy that in all of Ms. Foster's books, family plays a large roll and has a large importance for its characters. The plot moved along rather quickly and their relationship had an insta-love type feel in that their story moved quickly but it worked for the pair. The narration performed by Mr. Lane was was done well making the story enjoyable to listen to. I would recommend this book to others and I look forward to seeing where this series goes next.

Great Narration

I liked that once Tahlia was in she was all in. I had no problem with her not telling her family about Derek. I loved how Tahlia and her family were so supportive of Derek, Jonah, and Maria. I was also happy that Derek, although it was something he had to come to terms with, ultimately allowed the Daltons to be part of his support systrr.

This book had very little angst. Just what I needed during these times. I listed to and enjoyed the audio book. I thought the narration was good.

This book was sweet, sexy, and romantic. It was also about love, loyalty, honesty, owning who you are as a person, family, and friendship. I liked both books 2 and 3 better than book 1.

such a fabulous book

I can't even begin to imagine how a person couldn't love this book. It stole my heart. Derrick and Talia are simply perfect together. So just buy this book if you want to read a great romance. I did receive this book for free in exchange for an honest review but I would have happily paid for it.
Great job Mrs. Foster.

Talia and Derek

This is the third book in the Dalton siblings. Talia has always been the serious one. In this book we learn why she is the way she is and what meeting Derek means to her. Derek has so much on his plate now adding a woman to the just wasn't in the cards for him. When he almost gets hit by Talia's car he feels like he needs to know more about her. Will they get that HEA or will their hangups hold them back? I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone

Great fun!

4.25 Stars for me!

Very entertaining and enjoyable story, even with the light drama towards the end of the story! Both characters are likeable and the family from the previous stories all played a role in the outcome.

Lots of heat mixed with a light read makes for an enjoyable reader experience!

I hate this book!

This book is well written, excellently performed, and insightful. “So why do you hate it?”, you may ask. Last year my dad passed away after years of progressive dementia. This book is accurate regarding caring for a loved one through this time, and I hate reliving it.
That said, don’t skip the book. It is full of love and entertaining moments. Beware - you might just learn something valuable in the process.

Life is messy but love can make it through

I enjoyed the book. At times I became annoyed with some of the repetitiveness of the leading lady’s insecurity. I enjoyed the aspect of it not being a nice neat they met, had sex, fell in love.
They got to know each other and each other’s families. The aspect of the father with Alzheimer’s brought a realism to how life is, messy. I enjoyed the narrator for the most part but truly struggled with his voice for Tallia and the way he made her sound pathetic at times. Enjoyable overall.
