Publisher's summary

When Edy Phelps falls hard for her best friend, she knows nothing can come from it.

Forget actual chemistry, or the fact that she cherishes his mother more than her own; centuries of tradition say that Hassan will grow up, marry the girl his parents pick, and forget his best friend: the dancer with the bursting smile. Except he can't. In a world erupting with possibilities for the boy with a body of steel and dreams of the NFL, everything seems promised while nothing at all is; when he's denied the girl he wants most.

Two hearts. Two families devoted through generations of friendship. Could Edy and Hassan really risk all that? And yet... how could they not?

True love?

This is a hard review for me and I didn't know if it deserved 3 🌟 or 4 🌟 but I felt it held my attention so I gave it 4 🌟. I've never listened to anything by this author, Shewanda Pugh until Edy. Even though I had a hard time rating this story, I would love to listen to the other stories in this series. The author did a perfect job in capturing a teenagers thoughts, feelings, and finding love, but not only did she capture this with Edy but with all the teenagers. Honestly, this story seemed true instead of fiction. Although Shewanda added Wyatt to the story She kept out those horrible love triangles that most of us hate in a story. My only problem with this story is I thought it was to real, plain, and I hate cliffhangers.

Natalie Neckyfarow did a great job as she told this story. I've discovered another narrator that I'll be looking for other stories she's narrated. I received this copy in exchange for an unbiased review.

A Bittersweet Coming of Age Story

LOVE EDY was a bittersweet coming of age story about Edy and Hassan growing up together as neighbors and best friends. She liked him and spent a lot of time having teenage angst about her puberty and her relationship with Hassan. She was a ballet dancer and he a football player.

The story is a bit like a timeline of them growing up. Their worries, concerns, and also their other friends and especially other girls Hassan dated. There was also Wyatt that Edy knew. They both came from different backgrounds which made it hard for them. Edy went on vacation with her family to Cape Cod which caused more issues back home with Hassan. This is where I found it bittersweet and somewhat immature. I thought the premise of the story was really good although it was a bit long and at times uneventful although the ending was dramatic. This was a good first novel for Shewanda Pugh.

Natalie Neckyfarow did a nice job narrating the story. She had a cute voice for someone that would be the age of Edy. She had good voice inflections and was a perfect match for the story. I look forward to seeing what this author and narrator do in the future.

Teenage Love~True Love

Great characters~especially Edy and Hassan (Wyatt not so much). Culture clash, teenage angst, and a good story. What an ending! Looking forward to Book 2...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Love Edy

What did you like best about this story?

One of the best romances I've listened to For all who love romance, I was impressed at the author's ability to keep my interest with her characters, whom, she brought to life so well. I am so into this story The narration part is also good.

Snooze

This book was really boring. The narrator was very well spoken, but had no animation, made me tired. The book itself was just a snore.
