Love Connor & Lynette!

I have love visiting Hallbrook and this book brings it all home. Connor always wanted to play for the major leagues. An injury has taken him out of the minors, and his ex-wife has left him and his son, Trey. Now that he is healed, he is still pursuing his dream, but has taken on the physical education teacher job in his son's school for the time being. Lynette is new to Hallbrook. Looking forward to a stable home life with her daughter Gabby, she is the new principal for the school. The two meet when Connor takes Gabby on a camping trip and Lynette goes to pick her up. Instant chemistry? A little, but Lynette isn't too happy when she gets stuck camping too! These two in the beginning have a bit of a struggle as their view on parenting is a bit different. As time goes though, and school starts, the two find an easy friendship and slowly they become more. But this doesn't stop Connor from wanting to pursue his dream! Getting a call to play would pull him away in a heartbeat, right? Elsie Davis gives a wonderful look at opposites attracting and learning to see what truly brings happiness. From Bingo the dog, to Riley the bullying pitcher being nice to Gabby, this story shows how people can learn and grow. I loved watching Gabby and Trey meld together, the way Lynette starts to open her heart and the incredible decision Connor had to make. It's a heartwarming story and one that made me smile.

Rachel Butler, along with Liam and Lydia Butler give a performance that won my heart. Rachel is this town for me, and her voice is fantastic. Each character voice perfectly chosen and the emotions are spot on. With the addition of Liam and Lydia providing the children's voices, the narration is realistic and a pleasure to listen to.

Sweet Contemporary Romance

This was wonderful!
I was too tired when I finished it to write a review immediately and now that it's been a few days, I can't give you a lot of specifics, but I loved how they first met, and I hated when he left, but I loved the ending. And, I loved all the narrators! These kids who've narrated this series (Lydia and Liam Butler) are the best!!! The Rachel Butler has improved through this series, and i would chose another book from an author I didn't know, because she narrated it. This was the final book that's available on audio at this time and I hate that! I hope to see new titles come out in due time! But hurry Elsie, I'm waiting! lol!

Delightful!

Elsie Davis is a wonderful author. Not only are the stories fun but the readers really bring the story to life. I love how the children are reading the story along with adult family members. Highly recommend!
