I love Hank the Cowdog!

I really enjoy listening to Hank the Cowdog with my daughter! The writing and tone of the first-dog narration are really well done and great fun. Lots of word-play with an adult vocabulary (meaning sophisticated, not raunchy).
One gripe: the recordings have too much background music. I enjoy the periodic songs "written" by the characters, but the background its sometimes too loud and distracting.

Poor Hank - up to his usual mess!

For both adults and children to listen to....... Hank is a cow-dog on Loper's cattle ranch in the Texas panhandle. All the stories are told from his perspective and if anyone is a dog lover then these stories are a MUST for your delight and enjoyment. Adults and children will both laugh at the scrapes Hank and his sidekick, Drover, get into. Adults will love the double entedres, the malapropisms, the spoonerisms that pepper the story. The narration is superb with the author able to take on many, many different voices. Our family started listening to these stories in the 80's, first on tapes which we literally wore out, then CD's and now on our computer and iPods!
