Disappointing

I was reeled in by the clever premise of whatever happened to Cinderella after she married the Prince, but it quickly became obvious that this type of story is just not for me. Witches and Fairies and talking animals and magic spells are just too far removed from my interests. It reminded me a lot of “Son of a Witch” in that way; a book I equally disliked.

The narration just made it worse - like listening to an overly dramatic and immature tween reading her diary. Drivel.

Needless to say I am not going to bother with the rest of the series!

Good Story

Very well written. I love the new take on a classic story. Looking forward to next book.

Ehh...

I tried really hard to get into this book. I liked the idea of it, and I really wanted to like it. I'm not sure if it's the format, or the story itself, but it was just boring to me. I'd find myself spaced out and thinking about what I was going to make for dinner instead of listening to the story. The narration was decent, though. I like the girls voice and it was the only thing I did like.

Looking forward to more in the series

Full disclosure: I received a copy of this book from the author and I'm reviewing it voluntarily.

Now that that's out of the way... I have to say I ended up enjoying it even more than I thought I might. I love updated versions of the old tales, especially the ones that give us a look at what came after the happily-ever-after ending - clue: HEAs only work in fantasies. The story had some nice twists in it, including nods toward the not-really-intended-for-children nature of the original fairy tales, but nothing gruesome. (Look it up, folks, some of the original stories were pretty dark!) And at first I wondered if I could take 7-1/2 hours of the narrator's voice, but she grew on me rather quickly - and I do have to say she nailed the character. So yeah, give it a listen!

Not your childhood Cinderella!

You've probably read Cinderella's story or had it read to you as a child. Have you ever wondered what happened after "The End"? Ron Vitale's "Cinderella's Secret Witch Diaries" may have the answer to that question. "Lost" is the first book in the series and is written in first person POV, in the form of a diary. This is not a typical Cinderella retelling, It takes the story after the happily ever after, and it's much darker that the original fairytale. Not for the faint at heart!

I really enjoyed both the ebook and the audiobook. I've found the narrator excellent, she did a great job bringing to life Cinderella's emotions. If you like your fairytales with a darker twist and more life-like, then I recommend you give both the book and the audiobook a try.

Cinderella continued...terrific!

The narrator sounded a little too young for my taste but, other than that, the story was great and she did a great job telling it. Awesome all around. A great listen!

Conderellas secret witch Diaries

This is a fantastic read od Cinderellas Diary. The stories in this Diary are written so well. That I felt like the Characters personality jumps right off the page. It kept me captivated from the first page to the last. I definitely recommend.

Cinderella with a big dose of reality

a magical tale juxtaposed with a dose of the brothers Grimm. HEA taken and turned on it's head.
Loved the narrator!

I want to like it

I wanted to like it but I couldn't even finish it. The story is literally a girl reading her journal out loud, so the story is choppy. Also her voice is whiny.
