Story
A masterful, intensely suspenseful novel about a reader whose obsession with a reclusive writer goes far too far - a book about the power of storytelling, starring the same trio of unlikely and winning heroes King introduced in Mr. Mercedes. "Wake up, genius." So begins King's instantly riveting story about a vengeful reader. The genius is John Rothstein, an iconic author who created a famous character, Jimmy Gold, but who hasn't published a book for decades.

"My name is Mike Ross. I'm a Ferryman. I help people with ghost problems, or ghosts with people problems. Funny thing, no one ever helps me with my problems. Civil War ghosts bent on killing me, Skinwalkers who just want my body, and a vindictive spirit linked both to my bloodline and my destiny... It turns out the dead still hold a good deal of influence over the world, and they don't want to give it up. I'm in way over my head. Fortunately, I'm too stubborn to quit."

Another well-written story from a good author
Losers Weepers (Jane Barnaby Adventures #2), my second read from author J.J. DiBenedetto, an author I'd wanted to read since acquiring his first book back in August of 2014, yet never getting around to it until now. Outstanding fiction, well-written with characters & a plot you can buy into with unexpected twists & turns. I look forward to Her Brother's Keeper: The Jane Barnaby Adventures, Book 3. Cait Frizzell's narration adds to the enjoyment of the book. “I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Missing
When Jane's friend secretly leaves for England, Jane immediately grabs a flight to find her friend. WWII art theft drives the story based on a false diary. Definitely a chick lit, a little wordy, a little too mushy for me. Base story a great concept.

Losers Weepers
In some ways I think I enjoyed this book better than the first one in the series. (I think you could listen to them as stand alone). Jane sets off to solve the mystery of her missing friend. Only to get tangled in more than she bargained for again! It was nice knowing someone (her boyfriend) truly had her back in this adventure. Very fun story!
I was given this audio in exchange for an honest review.

I want to hang out with Jane Barnaby
First up the narration was good. We have one person doing both a male and a female voice. It was easy to tell when she switched between the characters and she did the necessary accents very well. She brought the emotions of the characters into the story which brought a nice depth.
The plot for this second story in the series was slower in getting started, but once they got to England the action never really stopped. It was fun trying to guess the motivations of the various characters and to discover that the author was able to surprise me with the unexpected outcomes.
Bottom line: Read/listen to this. You will not regret it.

Even better than the first book
What made the experience of listening to Losers Weepers the most enjoyable?
This story was great. The adventure held non stop action. I love Jane. She is capable in sticky situations, her clumsiness adds a little humour and she doesn't hesitate in a crisis.
This was a fun and entertaining read from start to finish and I look forward to the next adventure in the series.
